MKII silver metallic chèvre , about 13K USD (apologies, don’t know how to post in prices thread). Compared to the old silver JPG chaine d’ancre clutch circa 2005, also chèvre, this color , is a bit cooler and more gray in undertone.

Because the MKII is a high crossbody, it tends to crumple rtw when worn this way, so I prefer clothing that lies flat

The bag really suits you @880. Grungy and elegant at the same time

I'm hoping its just a new bag thing and it will loosen over time. I'm looking at bags on Sothebys and the new bags' flap look so loose compared to mine. When the bags are opened, the inner lining doesnt seem to separate from the outside leather forming any tension.
Hi! I have two mini Kellys in epsom, and they both have what you’re mentioning so please don’t worry! It does feel more like tension and there is a “bubble gap” between the swift lining and epsom outer, but I think that’s how they’re designed. At first I thought it was odd, but it stopped bothering me pretty quickly. I still find the mk to be such the perfect crossbody bag for necessities. Hope you love it!

Thank you for your advice. So far I own Birkins 30, Kellys 28. Nothing smaller. They're useful, nice, my daily companions. I love Birkin and Kelly sellier. I like Birkin 30 as everyday bag and I wanted a B25 but I'm waiting for the right specs.
Now I'm advised I simply have to own a mini Kelly. But of course it's their own agenda - $. (They also said a second must have is Pochette).
I'm not that trendy, not an influencer, don't like taking pics. Relatively young (if it's my delusion let me have it).
There are different answer to - does Iphone fit in mini Kelly? Some people hate their mini. Some love it of course. I am afraid that mini Kelly might not look like a "young person" bag, be too lady-like, too small. I'm tall. I'm thinking about the occasions when to use mini Kelly. Not exactly having lots of black tie events.
What's your take?

Yes, the iPhone fits in a mini kelly but it's a PITA to get it in and out...I mean, IMO, it's a PITA to get anything in and out of a mini kelly. (I'm curious as to who "they" are in terms of advising you that you have to own anything!) If it doesn't make your heart sing, it doesn't really matter what (sales)people/influencers/IG says. I like my MK's as they round out my collection, but I use them mostly on occasions when I don't think I need to access things in my bag that often...like nice dinners or theatre/opera. In case this is a factor, the strap is also quite short, so if you are tall, it probably won't look right or work as a crossbody for you without a different strap. (I am 5'4", slim and it is barely crossbody-able for me.)

This is probably going to be an unpopular opinion, but I honestly think they are crazy overpriced now for what they are. Given a choice with equal specs otherwise, I would pick a K25 sellier over an MK now (ie. I would not buy a new one at today's prices).

Re: Kelly Pochette -- slightly more roomy, but for me, I don't love that it doesn't have a shoulder strap, and as a hand-carry only clutch, I find it less compelling. I think a Kelly Cut looks way more interesting as a hand-carry/clutch than the Pochette. They're also realllly hard to get now (some say more so than the MK), in case that matters!

Thank you so much. I so agree you. Who says a mini Kelly is a must have? Personal shoppers/people advising on re-sales as new. I'm only an online shopper. Of course they want my money. Getting anything out a too small bag is my personal nightmare especially because I'm bad at arranging my items to fit the bag. Admittedly, the cheapest mini Kelly is around 20k plus customs, but more often around 25k or more. They're crazy popular. I do agree than Kelly 25 seems for me way more reasonable because it's still small enough but I can put some things like blotting paper, a lipstick, some medicine. I did the math and I saw no reasonable explanation to splurge on a bag I don't even truly want. Same for Pochette - the lack of strap is bothering me because it's less functional. So I think that I pass.
Thank you for affirming me that mini Kelly is not some "holy grail".

I really think this depends on your lifestyle.

I dont carry much. My collection is mainly b25, k25 and mini Kelly’s and I always reach for my mini Kelly.

Out of the H bags I own I think it’s the most fun and youthful looking and the most easy to wear. I personally find k25 even a bit too ladylike because I find it to be big and boxy on me. For reference I’m 172cm and size 34/36.

Can it fit anything? No not much at all. But I only carry cards and a lipstick. My phone I carry in my hand. As it’s got a shoulder strap I find it so easy. A KP would need to be carried in the hand and the leather options for this bag are more likely to get dirty.

Do they go with absolutely everything I wear? Yes 100%. From formal to casual depending on the colour.

I like my MKs and think they are adorable and chic. Also f'ing useless for anything but a key/fob, lippie, and CC. Sure I can wedge my phone in there if I take the case off. But generally your phone will be in your hand if you are carrying a MK (or, I guess you could also lanyard your phone? Seems like a lot of straps.)

I don't like having phones out at dinner unless there is a possible emergency, plus half the clubs I go to forbid phone use now because of cameras, so I want my phone away in my bag during dinners and dancing.

Is the bag a must-have? Absolutely not.

I love my mkIIs, but DH and my SA laugh bc sometimes there is nothing in there. They said , in that case, I should consider the MKII as jewelry 😂

My iPhone 16 pro (NOT the pro MAX) fits without the case. And, I usually slide it into a pocket

I generally carry almost nothing, and usually use Apple Pay.

I’m 5’2”, and size 36 Chanel or Hermes. 38 Dior if the waist is forgiving (not thr bar jacket) and I feel that the MKII is sometimes a bit doll like unless I’m feeling slim that day abd take care to style it.

Thank you, guys, some of your stories are hilarious in a good way. MK as jewelry. Doll-like. Maybe I can sacrifice the phone case. I often need to take out my phone even if I'm meeting with friends. Usually it's "guys, sorry I'll be late", less often "where are you?". Always call a taxi and sometimes we cannot find each other. With smaller bag I have issues to put it back nicely and enter the taxi with my phone in my hands. I'm wondering why others can make it work and I don't. But back to the point.
Do you guys have any takes what leather and color is best for MK? Especially the first one. Look-wise and overall (meaning - I have a brain fog and can't come up about with anything) I'm talking much about the weather but right now it's a hot summer but autumn/winters are long here so jacket/coats are must haves. When you also have small canvas would you go for black (black is usually the right color) or something else? (Definitely no pink/purple one for me, but greys, beige, neutrals or my fave color blue). I don't have anything in box, but I do have both chèvre and epsom and I'm wondering how they'd work in mini versions.

The easiest colours to wear IMO are black and a light neutral like nata or Craie. I have black and also nata and I use both very often. Those two pretty much can match anything. Epsom and chèvre are both nice for this size but I prefer Epsom - it keeps its shape better and doesn’t soften as much. Chèvre looks better though IMO
