The ponchos look marvelous on everyone here, H models and dress forms.

my question is: what do y’all think is the largest American—size these 62x55 cuts can drape attractively?

I’d say pretty much any size. For people who wear smaller size clothes there would be extra material and the poncho could be flicked over a shoulder. For people wearing larger size clothes there wouldn’t be as much excess but the poncho could still be flicked over a shoulder. Two slightly different but equally attractive looks. When I was deciding, I found a throw blanket in the house which was similar in size. I needed to get rid of some of the cat fur stuck to the blanket first but I played around with it a bit in order to get a general feel for the poncho. I found this helpful even though the two aren’t the same shape.

Thank you for your advice! I remain slightly skeptical any woman with 42DDs will carry this off, so ordered the red today and we shall see ;)

My experiment was with a light wrap I picked up this summer and love. It does give some hope. It is approximately 69 inches long and 36 inches wide plus fringe.

BUT it is cut downwards from the center top some 36 inches, resulting in a “T” effect as the bifurcated section folds out to the left and right, and then wraps back around the arms and body leaving a 30+Lx55W or so inch square down the back. Photos indicate the Hermes poncho is similar in cut, draping rather than wrapping.

I should receive in three days, so will report update if not too far off topic.

Hello~ :wave:I'm new to poncho/capes so not sure if i'm going to be any help, but for cape like the one I purchased (as oppose to proper poncho style or the one with croc clasps at the front), I believe the width of the bust area shouldn't matter that much as far as the front part of the cape is concerned because the cape goes around your neck and above your bustline. How it will look I think will depend on the amount of material that is left to drape, and 62x55 I believe is generous size to be able to wear it comfortably. I hope I understood your question correctly?
I apologize in advance if I misunderstood your question
HTH (a bit)! :flowers:

You get me, girl! ;)
BTW: Your cape is wonderful!
On H site/Petit H, they showed the pik but no click for info or ordering that option—so much to learn about navigating H world & web.

Howdy!
So I have to warn you; I am terrible in taking photos! And this cape looks different depending on how you wear it so not sure how to take pics. If there's anything you would like to see that I miss, please let me know!
Here's some FYIs:
**I received grey/dark green color on cashmere side. The one I got is 80% cashmere, 20% wool, and 100% silk (scarves). This color was not shown on the website.
**The size is 65" x 55.5" (approx 154cm x 141cm)
** Compared to Rocabar or Casaque ponchos, its thinner.

The ordering was like a rollercoaster :), fun but heartstopping at times. First, the exhilaration of seeing the multicolor available with piks! The low energy roll of mulling over for an hour to return to find the prompt, “no longer available,” and the sudden drop. Then the slow rise to try again and voila! Let me put in cart! Then the log in, poof! “Password doesn’t match email.” DROP! Slow rise to await H email to get password reset option. Reset to exactly what was before and back again to open bag—voila! Cape!—tap PayPal (God bless those folks!)....Satisfaction, slow role back into the station and wait two business days for Reveal. (Praying for one with the other part of the pink Pegase d’H shown in web piks ;p)

I soooo 100% understand you jbizzybeetle! The emotional rollercoaster H website puts you through is like no other! :frown: In my case, my initial transaction went through, and I was elated to be able to buy such a pretty cape! :panic:But 20 minutes later, I received an email saying that my order was canceled...My heart popped out, and fell onto my H shoes. :crybaby:I tried to buy my cape 5 times before giving up and called cust. svc. My heart crawled under my H shoe. She tried 2 times to no avail as my heart laid dead. But I persevered and begged her to help me get it whilst I was resuscitating my heart on the floor. After 3rd try, I was finally able to buy my cape! :happydance: When I finally got my cape and opened the box, I was in tears of joy! :yahoo:At this point, I was happy with ANY color and design (I suspect a H ploy).
I am so excited for you! I pray that you get the color and design that you like! Pleaaaaase post pics as soon as you get your lovely cape!!!

Oh yeah! I get a later email says just a few questions—call us. Call, they say a problem processing payment via PayPal, H needs card number. I went back & forth 3 times “no card number, pay preferred thru bank acct”. finally, after 4 times on hold, bless the girl, she understood, took the PP confirmed trans #, and said she would approve with the notations going to upper H so they would understand.

big grin! You may be right! an intricate ploy so you are happy for whatever comes in that box!

My Petit H surprise! cape has shipped, arrives by Wed! Stay tuned!

FYI: to wrap up the sizing questions I had as a 2x bordering 3x, both rocobar red pre-owned/TRR and casaque new/H fit fine. The casaque was wonderfully softer than the rocobar, but the latter pattern just looked better on me to my surprise.

Both are going back, however, in favor of the Petit H surprise and/or blue rocobar/casaque, depending first on what wishes the Petit H gods grant me.

The first (oh, dear) Petit H Surprise! Multicolor had to go back, and I’ll order another later today.
Although the cashmere side in marine/bordeaux or indigo/rouge was luscious, the silk side was just five blocks of solid-color silk shades of blue, red and white, with white on shoulders and around face—not good on my pale face with white hair (since high school, thanks, Mom!).
No patterns of scarves on the silk sides, except for the embossed tiny H on at least one block, maybe, but fuzzy memory because it went back in the box in seconds.
