I love this GM. I have it in colourway 4 and 8 ( I think - open to correction). I find 8 very easy to wear. I generally wear block colours, but I have worn 8with a black and white striped top and I don't think that the effect was overwhelming. The colours in 4 are quite restrained and depending on which way it's folded it can look quite muted. That's what I love most about this shawl is the way it look completely different depending on how it's worn. I love the bird (heron?), but it's quite eyecatching so sometime fold the shawl so it's hidden. I absolutely adore colourway 4 it's my favourite GM, but it is BRIGHT. Personally I love that. I love adding it to a black work dress to give an otherwise very corporate look a bit of zing.

I've tried 5 and 2 in the shop. I found colourway 2 too insipid for my personal taste, but I've been thinking more and more about 5 and regretting not buying it. Should I go back for it? Is having 3 GMs in the same pattern uterrly ridiculous?:graucho: I do think it would be the most versatile for me. I have a lot of navy in my work wardrobe and I think it would work well.

Excuse the hastily taken camera phone shots.

I just ordered cw 7. As for 05, I will have to see it IRL. It has a lot of mustard and some brown that scare me away from it. As some have noted, these shawls are so pretty to look at, but the multitude of colors in each may make them hard to wear and to match.

Your third picture looks like cw.01?

Great news....please post pictures when you get it!

I'm not sure my bad phone photos will really help demonstrate what I mean, but I'm finding the boldness of the shawl can be increased or decreased depending on whether I choose to match its most prominent color (in the case of my colorway, pink). If I wear the shawl against a pink shirt, it definitely appears subtler. If I pick up another color (for instance, the mint green), the shawl is much more of a statement. Of course, even against pink, it's not exactly a subtle accessory-- but I like that!

Excuse the picture quality, and the disarray in the background. I'm in the middle of writing a lecture, which I somehow always make into an excuse to create clutter. :shame:

the pics with the magenta top are c/w 1 for sure (c/w 4 is the one calexandre is wearing below!!) we are twins on c/w 1!

personally, i would hold off before you buy another c/w b/c i read somewhere that the next seasons shawls could be out in a month - i am sure you could always still get c/w 5 if none of the new ones fit your taste!

i think i would stick with solids - there is a lot going on in the design that i believe a solid would work the best BUT if you have the right top/dress and you folded it just so it could be pulled off but it would really have to sync

i wore my last week folded cowboy style with an azur solid shirt + jeans and did not even wear any jewelry

As much as I have admired this design I find it to be a complex fit and pattern in a wardrobe. Since many of my shawls are already brightly colored, and graphic, I hoped for a neutral or subdued colorway that works year round for me. I do like the spring palette of 08 like plumtree's best, so that is the closest in coloration that would round out my shawl collection. I do want to ask those of you who have it, do you find it too busy to wear with other patterns and only wear against solid colors?

I think the first shawl photo you posted is cw 07; I think the 08 has blue for the waves.
Great choices!

So nice to see this in sunlight! Can't wait for mine to arrive. I think the colors are fab. Very happy pattern and it give off a great vibe. I bet this will look super with my white toile/clemence Birkin or barenia/toile Kelly. Neutral bags to set off the colors.

this 08 cw looks like the perfect spring/summer shawl colors for ExLenK. I am dying to have it show up on H.com in the US so I can order it, or see it IRL when I'm next in an H store (end of next week. Can't wait!). Thanks for posting so many photos--it really helps give an idea of the shawl and the colors.

You're welcome, la Vie en Rose! I'm glad to help! I find that the detailed photos - most ESPECIALLY the folded and tied photos - really help me decide whether a scarf might work on me or with my wardrobe, so I am very happy to help (enable) others. Of course, my photos are not as good as Mia's (I'm still looking for cw 5...). I'm always thankful when others do the same.

I agree that these colors work best for spring/summer. I do not seem to be able to wear this shawl with black. Has anyone successfully paired cw 8 with black?

thank you so much! such a great design!

palmbeachpink

wow, gorgeous. I love the rich brown contrasted with the bright pink of the (I think) bird's feathers.

Very pretty!

Plumtree has paired it with dark colors earlier on this thread. It looks great on her. I tried 08 on and for me it is great for spring/summer and with greys for all year round. I live in a moderate climate area though and have plenty of autumn/winter rich palette GM's that I am looking for a lighter colorway GM to round out my collection more. I find I reach for the lighter, brighter shawls most of the time.
