Scarves Ode to Ex-Libris en Kimonos

I have a confession to make, my H.com order arrived on Monday. Colourways 01 and 07 inside and I'm a bit meh about them 01 is definately going back which is the one that I thought I would love. I have lots of orange and pink but I think the tone is slightly off on this and it is just a little bit on the neon side. Disappointed doesn't even start to describe it.

I am going to run 07 past DH as I think it will be a grower and besides, it goes with my Gao I guess I was surprised that I didn't get that reaction, maybe the wait was just too long.

I felt the same way when I saw cw01 and 02 irl- the combination of colors is not easy to wear for many people. I have not seen 07 yet- that I still have down as a consideration. I purchased 05 because it was most flattering on me and will transition better into fall than many of the other brighter cws- it borders on a neutral. Ex-L enK is a beautiful design- I feel Hermes went a little too far with the bright and pastel colors, imo a bit garrish and limited in wearability.

Not anymore!!! I just bought it. I called on the phone and ordered it. They only had one. After reading about all the website disasters with orders, I decided to call and speak with a real person to make sure it was still there.

I have this in a silk in the red colorway. I just love the pattern and I think it is just stellar!!!

Thanks for the input, none of the other c/w really do it for me. I think I will stick with 07 and wait until I find something that sings. I am going to Rome in a couple of weeks, so I might just get me a little H souvenir

I love how the camel and light blue was matched together to make this scarf a neutral color to wear. And I am in love with the little purple and dark pink details on the scarf! This is my 1st choice color amongst the ones I shortlisted to buy.

And I am in love with the purple contrast hem against the red borders...))

so you bought cw01? I saw it in the boutique and I like a loud shawl as much as the next person but the combination of colors (hot yellow and orange esp.) and the scale was just too much. These bright cws enter a room before the wearer does. Maybe I am just too conservative:doggie:

I really love looking at them & admire them on others - especially cw06 - but just not on me. I remarked to an SA a couple of weeks ago that the scarf season has been incredible bright IMO. But that's not surprising when H often intertwines new leather colours into the scarves - bouganvillea, kiwi, menthe, jaune, EB, mykonos, RC, capucine.... The leathers have gone too bright for me and I think the scarves have tended the same way - especially using so many of the colours together. Cw06 in the 90cm is my fave scarf of the moment and there were a few brights in the 90cm too. I expected the shawls to be more wearable, so I was surprised when they all ended up so colourful.They have also done pastel versions of the same colours, which are complimentary (such as in the cw04 shawl) but unfortunately I'm not really a pastel person. Thus I think it must be cw05 for me. I'm waiting to see more of cw03 too, which has been rather elusive.

The way I fold my shawls is such that I don't think the shawl will be entering the room before I do. I'm not a shrinking violet, so I am not worried I think the only thing to be concerned about is whether the colors flatter a person's complexion.

Toujours, I have the Carre en Carre in the brights colorway and if I can wear that, then this will be a piece of cake Looking at the pictures posted, I think it will be fine.

this 08 cw looks like the perfect spring/summer shawl colors for ExLenK. I am dying to have it show up on H.com in the US so I can order it, or see it IRL when I'm next in an H store (end of next week. Can't wait!). Thanks for posting so many photos--it really helps give an idea of the shawl and the colors.

As much as I have admired this design I find it to be a complex fit and pattern in a wardrobe. Since many of my shawls are already brightly colored, and graphic, I hoped for a neutral or subdued colorway that works year round for me. I do like the spring palette of 08 like plumtree's best, so that is the closest in coloration that would round out my shawl collection. I do want to ask those of you who have it, do you find it too busy to wear with other patterns and only wear against solid colors?

I only wear solids so I haven't had any issues wearing cw 02 (rouge/anis/corail). I haven't had the chance to take any action shots; will try to take some soon. In the meantime, here is my brique box b with the shawl.
