Thank you Monceau - that is reassuring to know! it does indeed have a neutrality about it yet lots of colours so like you say immensely wearable now for some winter weather!

I'm happy to report that CW05 also found its' way into my home today :)
I was very lucky to find the last one in the Frankfurt store.
Sadly a lot of my beloved H items were stolen when a drug addict run through my train just after I got on it and stole my overnight bag :(

How horrible, I'm so sorry!! I love my cw5, it's such a happy shawl!

Hi Ladies! I am new posting in this forum but I have been a follower for a long time. For months, I have been admiring your ELenK scarves and shawls. Finally, yesterday, I mastered the guts to call my SA and purchase one. I received it today - colorway 03. It was a charge send since they did not have it in the store. I inspected it and I found this imperfection. Should I return it or am I being too OC? (Sorry if the pics are too big). Thanks for your help.

If your SA knows you - I would say fear nothing about bringing it back. I have learned over the years, no matter how small the imperfection - Hermes is not inexpensive (no matter how wealthy you are as well). If you purchase a $1125 shawl, it should be nothing but perfect. And especially if your SA knows you - Im sure she will understand you aren't crazy. I say bring it back but just to remind you Hermes is VERY strict about their rtn/exch policy now - you have to go within 10 days. It makes it so hard for me especially the store I do my big purchases out of is a good 45 mins for me and I cant really just get in the car and go whenever I want ...

Thanks, Chez Capri. I will call her in the morning. This shawl is very expensive for me. It will be my first and my last so I just wanted to make sure i get my money's worth.

Yes bring it back for sure!! Its an expensive shawl - to anyone!
But in other news, since you said this is your only shawl (but Im sure NOT your last ... you will get more im sure through the years :smile1:), ExLenK is a great choice. I love Hermes shawls and do buy many each season but I find that my heart does skip a beat every time I look at/wear an ExLenK ... and it looks AMAZINGLY divine in any colorway!

Thanks, Chez Capri. I will call her in the morning. This shawl is very expensive for me. It will be my first and my last so I just wanted to make sure i get my money's worth.

Oh no, I'm sorry you found an imperfection in your shawl! I can see why this would bother you, it would annoy me too, so perhaps try taking it back to your store...?

I recently bought 2 90cm silk scarves and when I got home I noticed one of them had a TINY little pull in the border (which was interesting because it was a brand new scarf from the drawer that had never even been tried on). In the end, I decided not to bother taking it back because it was so small and didn't take anything away from the scarf.

However, if you really want to take it back, I think you should definitely give it a try! I think for the price of H items, you do want any and every piece you buy to be flawless, but pulls and snags are sadly inevitable with silk and cashmere shawls/scarves.

BUT I think it should be up to you whether to accept a tiny imperfection or not in a new item, no one should force it on you! :smile1:

Oh and PS - I have this shawl in the exact same CW. It is amazing and very underrated. You have good taste! :)

Thanks, MsHermesAU, for your insight! I did try to ignore it but I can't get it off my head. Every time I look at the shawl, I look for the pull and it seems like it's getting bigger or more obvious. (I really should stop obsessing with it!)
That's why I had to get your informed opinion.

I did a search and like what you said, it is inevitable for the SC shawls to have pulls or snags. I can accept that, not just on a newly bought one.

I will still try to take it back and I'm hoping that maybe by some stroke of luck, they'll get a new shipment in this CW. If not available, my SA was telling me that they have the CW05, which was my second choice. Wish me luck!

Thanks again.

While runs, polls, piling, etc are inevitable, I think you would be wise to exchange this shawl. As Chez Caprisaid, these shawls are considerable investments and we should expect a high level of quality control for the price.
I love this design in all color ways, but I must admit I am partial to 05. The funny thing is that I ordered 05 on a whim, fully expecting to send it back! I haven't even worn 07 yet, because 05 is so subtle, gorgeous and versatile - it's my go to shawl this season.

I hope they can locate a flawless 03 for you, but 05 would be a great second choice!
Congratulations on your initiation into the world of Hermes shawls, they are such treasures and Kimonos is a very special design!:smile1:

I'm so sorry about your loss, what a frightening experience.
As chincac pointed out, the most important thing is that you were unharmed in the process. I hope 05 brings you much joy, it is a special shawl!

Thank you so much Ladies, I really appreciate your kind words! :hugs::smooch:

I have spent my day calling insurance companies and filling out claim forms wrapped in my new GM, it made me feel much better!
I really love love CW05, I think it will be my go to scarf this A/W. It goes perfectly with most of my wardrobe too.
I think I will start hunting for CW03 now, but slim chances of getting it in Europe sadly.. Maybe I will be lucky enough to score it in LAS in December :)
