I almost got this CW, and now you have me re-thinking it. It looks beautiful on you.

Thank you so much :smile1:! I think you should go for it if you like this pattern. I really love this cw and I think it's perfect for every season. It's very easy to wear and combine IMO. Very nice in spring/summer, but I am also planning to wear it when the weather gets colder in autumn/winter.

I wish this were not the case but with the downgrading of the c/s in recent years and the pricepoint, the shawls tend to linger in drawers or get returned- more so than with the twills.

I learned my lesson the hard way to always inspect- it was an ugly situation with the shawl sent to me from the east coast a few years ago (the last framboise ExL in the country)- the shawl in question was badly shopworn (pilling in places) plus there was a huge stain. There is no way it should have even been placed back in inventory let alone sent out as first quality merchandise at full retail. That was returned in a NY minute and AmEx was alerted as well- I did get all shipping refunded in addition to the price of the shawl (back on the cc- no store credit)- but what a huge hassle.

I understand the dilemna when you do not live near a boutique or what you want is not local. Please be careful!

Thank you for sharing, it has helped me rethink charge sends.

Chanel, your Kimono is so beautiful! I really love that colorway, very soft and perfect for spring/summer time. I was unable to find that one so got this one instead. Here is mine.
toujours*chic, thanks for comforting. I learned a lesson from this: if you like it, buy first, think later! :graucho: I hesitated for too long until I got the cashmere one and really enjoyed the design.

Similar to chkpfbeliever's experience, my nice SA recently helped me to hunt down ELK scarf cw 04, I was so excited! However when I opened the FedEx box from Atlanta, it became "keep it or not"!
First, it's no longer store fresh/crispy, the folds are off it should be, although no pulls, one care tag stitch was off. And it has a print out tag with plastic string attached to the falling off care tag. To me, it looks miserable. It looks like either returned by others or used on the model.
I decided to keep it since I really love it and not many available out there, so I stitched the tag back myself. (Fortunately it has black hem.) I also folded back to original...
Any purchase from H store should make you happy, this one really disappointed me! :thinkin:

Hi Ladies,

Thanks for all the comfort advice. My SA is on vacation this week and the store is doing inventory so I want to wait for her to get back first. I mentioned this on the phone with another SA and she said that their shawls should be fine and they need to inspect it. I'm nervous now that they won't accept it and think that it is my fault. I've not even touched it since I brought home so totally innocent. If this is going to be my first shawl experience, then I have to second think of adding this to my collection. I've many silk carres and love all of them. The EL Kimonos is the first one that makes me put down 4 digits on a shawl. I hope this won't be the last time.

Mimi - Your experience was horrible on the charge send. How can they ship out something without looking ? I thought with the silks being the exception to the recent new H policy, at least we can call any store and order something we like. If we can't count on the SA to ship out a perfect item to us, how can it justify these prices ??

I'll update here once I've a chance to bring it in. Very anxious now !!

my fingers are crossed that everything works out for you- so sorry this happened because it should have been a happy occasion to receive the kimonos GM

To all the EL Kimonos shawl owners, have your closely inspect your shawl for pulls and snags when you purchased from the store ? I bought two and never inspected them as I assume that they are perfect since it is from the store. Today, I found that both of them have several pulls and I'm wondering if it is due to customers trying it on and putting it in and out of drawers.

I'm gonig to exchange it since I've never worn it but am a bit shocked as this is my first cashmere shawl. I never had any problems with silk carres before, or maybe there are small imperfections but I just never bother to check.

Just wondering what everyone experiences are. The EL shawl design is so busy that it would be hard to detect it without looking up close.

This is horrible - so sorry that this happened to you. You have shopped enough at that store that they should let you return it! I hope you don't get the run-around.
Truthfully, I never inspected mine - I should do that ASAP. I have worn it several times, already.

My sa told me kimono is last season items which wont be available in the shop anymore. Is that true? After i see all the beautiful kimono in this thread, i seriously want one.
bibichu,

the 90 cm silk twill carres are last season and out of the stores, the 140 cm cash/silk GMs are from summer collection 2012, maybe out of the stores already or soon.
