A bit like a thermostat? Really? This would be a huge plus since i live in a hot climate but justified buying one with all the airconditioning around :p
Yes! LOL, my SA explained that when it´s hot the fibers will expand and let air pass more easily and the contrary when it´s cold. I mean to say the animals regulate their temperature by holding or releasing warmth.

Phew....it´s hard to explain using a foreign language:laugh:

Personally I don´t like the 90x90 silks since I find them too small and the silk twill too stiff. I have bought many but never worn them since they don´t work for me. I love the GMs, they are soft and big and gorgeous. I think a GM is more verstaile than a silk scarf. Hermès uses special cashmere that will adapt itself to the surrounding temperature. A bit like a termostat (if that is an English word). Good luck for your decision.

Welcome to the dangerous world of shawls/scarves:p

Adding that I bought a GM silk scarf a few days ago which is supposed to be much softer and its size will make it work for me. I´m posting a picture for you to see.

Wow! That is too gorgeous really. I am like you too - bought so many 90x90 silks but don't wear these often enough. I prefer bigger scarves size wise (as per the Stephen Sprouse leopard stole or McQueen scarves). Anyway, really appreciate your thoughts and input. The SA at my H store was dissuading me from getting the cashmere as she thought it was just too warm for spring and summer and the most versatile scarf being the 90x90.....

You are very welcome.

I feel that even though the 90x90 silks are much more affordable they end up being very expencive because they just sit in my closet.

I know lots of members here with cashmere GMs even if they live in hot climates.

CP, gorgeous photos!!! I love this cw07 also and am trying desperately not to consider getting it!!!!

Lovely, I adore the Lalbhai....I regret that I only purchased one of these, in the pink/red. Wish I had gotten the brown and the indigo (the one you got). It's so gorgeous and so versatile! I'm holding out hope that the Kachinas and/or Coaching will work out just as well for me.

The cashmeres are definitely multi-seasonal, great for summer as well as winter. Ive said that I think cw08, much as I love it, is a warm-weather CW (yeah, let's see what I think when October rolls around....), because the colors lend themselves to those seasonal tones and dont play so well with black, while 03 is much more multiseasonal...

SO, you clearly CAN get more than one of these (two....or three....four???? ;) if you like the pattern and/or colors, and they really will not compete with each other in your closet. I am all about not having scarves compete; I don't like owning multiple similar cws, and I dont like owning things that I dont use, over the years I have had MANY scarves and other H-items, and I just don't keep what I don't use. Not that I don't or have not had multiple cws of particular designs, particularly designs I like and/or work well on me, but I don't think there's anything wrong with having more than one of a design if you feel that you will use it, and you have nothing else like it.

I know I'm rambling a bit here, but I've just realized something - I've realized WHY I like ELenK so much: it's different. There really isn't any design like this (I know it's an Ex Libris variation, but it's done really distinctively here, with all of the crazy yet harmonious patterns), I truly have not seen it before. For example, Tendresse Feline looks like Guepards; Reves d'Escargots looks like Domes Celestes....AND, for another reason, the cws are both different - we haven't seen these coming and going before, have we? - AND they're nice and flattering, genuinely pretty, speaking to a general aesthetic sensibility as opposed to colors which suit whatever market H is going after at the time. I hope that makes sense!

Thank you BBC for your thoughts and input on gm shawls in general and specifically on ELenK. It is really effective enabling :D
Tomorrow morning I get to meet cw7 irl and hopefully bring her home ;)

Thanks for your thoughts!

I will make a phonecall tomorrow and hopefully cw.01 is still there. You have enabled me, and I think I enabled myself too while posting about the GMs:laugh:

^Thanks everyone for the kind words. Here are some action shots of cw 02 tied in various ways!
