Here's a spa before and after for my Barenia HAC (1999 bag). It wasn't in tragic shape to start with, but it's much more even now, the spots are gone, and the scratches are much more blended in. There was also some corner wear you cannot see here that is now completely fixed. The tone is not as much darker post-spa as it may appear, that's mainly lighting, but it's good to know that in general Barenia WILL come back a bit darker (you can ask for the patina to be deepened, too).
The wonderful Docride also does Barenia work which has been very successful for some tPFers who don't have easy access to spa/don't want to deal with the delays/etc. (Just to clarify per a couple PMs, this bag went to Service Apres-Vente at a boutique in Paris, where I live. Took just under 3 weeks to get a quote, at which point I was quoted seven weeks for service, but it was only another 4 weeks before it came back.)

I have a difficult relationships with HACs (haha): I love the look, e.g. Barenia with Canvas. But when I hold it I don't like the silhouette - and I also find it so impractical. I really want to love it, but I guess function should be as important as form :smile:

I did not know that one can order bags via the Horizon process. Then again, Horizon was never even proposed to me so far :smile:

Barenia is a push offer item so, no, can't be ordered at podium. If your SA knows you love Barenia, you can ensure you are on the list if a bag shows up. I will be honest though, I haven't seen a B40 in Barenia in-store in years. I'm not seeing anything right now but K25, B25, and an occasional K28. I would look at resale if you are ok with that.

Barenia bags in new silhouettes or designs that have not been done previously in Barenia can be ordered via Horizon but for a B40 sized bag you are likely looking at around $60K USD minimum which honestly IMO is insane. If you would be ok with that cost, it is worth bringing up a Horizon order.

And yes! Function is VERY important :) It is easier to find HACs in Barenia than Birkins, but the HAC40 (I have it in Barenia/wool felt) is really best as a travel bag.

Does not sound too promising for B40 in Barenia then unfortunately. I assume for Barenia Feaubourg it would be the same story? But of course this would only be a second choice :)

Happy to help, I love Fauve Barenia and have a few bags in this leather, as well as a few in Gold - both colors so classic and wearable.

I don't know if B40 is made in BF, but yes, that is also a push offer.

Just my opinion, but buying Barenia at resale is a smart move as it does not stay pristine for more than a few minutes ;)

Lucky you, that sounds just wonderful 🤎

I will politely mention a B40 in Fauve Barenia to my SA. And also look into pre-loved - I guess I can always send it to the spa then.

What a wonderful restoration job! You can’t even see the spots that were in the before pic. This makes me hopeful for what my Kelly will look like when she comes back from the spa. Thank you @QuelleFromage. You are a wealth of knowledge.

Indeed really, really rare! But like you, Barenia somehow does not speak to me in Black or Ebene, the way it does in other colours. I hope this one ends up being treasured by someone here.
