Yes, but if you persist they might give. I've seen them tell people to wait until after the line is clear and then they've let them in after 1 hour or so, but that was when the private sale was the same day as the public sale. Also, without fail someone that has never been to the private sale before will walk to the front of the line expecting to go right in just to be pointed to line full of people with invitations.
Not sure what the OP has seen, but I recall that every time I've gone a staff member with a clip board comes out 15 minutes or so before and compares invites to a list and on occasion has asked for some sort of ID. When the sale was at FI:AF they were very strict about this.
At the last sale Woody Allen's wife was allowed to go in about 1:30.

At BOTH the private and public sales, handbags have to be checked in before entering the sales floor. One can bring only wallets and cell phones to the sales area. A white paper bag is given to everyone to put their shopping in. No scarf/ tie boxes available for items purchases during the private/public sales.

So, my dear, are we going?? I got the invitation but I think Mr Rocker is trying to sabbotage me and threw it away...Have to check to see if I can go in the invitation day...
