NYC Hermes Sample Sale at Soiffer Haskin

HNN, mimi and FO - thank you for your kind comments on my scarf splurge!

I dashed in again around noon today (just out of curiosity - no more spending!), and concur with libelle - very very depleted scarf selection. I did see quite a few nice boots though, in reasonable sizes from 38 to 40.5 (probably others, too). "Story" boots with a shaft of perforated leather should be great for spring, price $700 if I remember correctly. They had other models, too; I'm no boots expert.

One more report from me probably won't hurt

No leather bags or small leather goods (disappointing)
Shoes: lots of boots at $1k+ prices. No jumping boots. Sandals are plenty but honestly the pricing was not attractive at all.
Scarves: plenty and they replenish quickly.
Enamels: small sizes (65) are extremely rare. Larger sizes are plenty.
Ties: lots. Including some classic designs without monkeys etc.
RTW:didn't look.
Home: plenty of crystals, some tea cups (the large mug set was $105. I liked the current collection Le Maison but after I went to my boutique, I was told that Le Maison does not come with the larger size. oh well...

I bought:
two perfume sets
a scarf ring
two scarves
three ties, and
a belt

***Question***
I never had a belt kit before and belt buckles were not available at the sale, so I grabbed a belt. However, when I visited my boutique later, I was informed that Hermes didn't sell buckles separately. Is it true? So nobody could ever have more buckles than belts? Seems a little counter intuitive to me?

It's so not true, I have bought a Muse buckle from a H shop without a belt last week!

Reporting from the sale today:

I got there at 8:45. There were only 10 people ahead of me. We waited inside until the doors opened. At 9 I got in. I was very disappointed to see what was left. There were only about 10 patterns in the 90cm silks. All the same colorway, sort of burgundy/brown, except for a few Chasse en Inde in the green and violet colorway. Very few pochettes, some enamels all in the dot pattern, fragrances, shoes I didn't look at thoroughly, ready to wear, belts, but no CDC's. Some Garden Party files all in dark red/burgundy.

The one scarf I was hoping to get, Madras a Zakynthos was all sold out. I asked every SA if there were any more, they told me no, and they weren't restocking. I circled the scarf table at least 20 times (because I didn't believe them) hoping one would somehow appear. I was on the side where the ties are, when I saw someone trying on the Madras a Zakynthos in the brown colorway on the other side. Apparently someone changed their mind at the checkout so they put it back out and it was snapped right up - I just missed it.

I am a little late in posting First off, it was great seeing 880, FashonistaO, Sdsurfchick, and of course my favorite cat friend....Jingy's mom!
We had a great time on Tuesday!!! I had to leave for a business trip and have not been able to share my new goodies but, I am overjoyed!
I got a pair of Rouge H boots (can not find the name)
Hache Palladied Buckle in black
2 BdG pointu scarves and an adorable rain hat (which came in handy on my trip!!)
