Does anyone else have plans to not buy luxury bags in 2021?
None of the new designs seem to interest me enough to spend the money and the constant price increases are rather ridiculous (looking at you, Chanel). I have decided that I'm not going to be making any bag purchases this year, or the next, and then possibly get a bag to celebrate my 35th in 2023.
I love bags so I do think this will be rather difficult.. although I'm happy that I haven't pulled the trigger on any "trendy" bags like the chanel 19 or dior saddle/book tote, all of which I contemplated buying last year.

Best wishes with your plan. Definitely exciting to wait for a special bag to celebrate your 35th birthday. You have a lot of resolve to get there.
I had an unintentional no buy 2020. I am usually editing my bag wardrobe with mindful purchases and intentional rehoming. I gave myself permission to not make any choices on exiting bags during Covid. I am appreciating what I have right now.
Good luck and keep us posted.

I made a promise to myself to use the bags in my collection and not buy bags in 2021. I have 3 brand new Gucci bags purchased in 2020 that I haven't used because I am not working in the city all dressed up in an office and traveling for business. Working remotely and not really going out anywhere, only to shop for essentials like food and pharmacy. My bags are in their dustbags until the pandemic eases a bit and we can go out again. So I will be shopping my own closet and saving $$ in 2021!

I am currently trying to mainstream my collection to only colors/styles that suit my lifestyle.

For 2021, I have made a promise to myself that I'll have to sell a bag for every bag purchase. Recently sold two bags (LV Brea, YSL Kate) and a wallet (Balenciaga Card Holder) to pay for my new handbag (YSL Sac De Jour), which is definitely a first for me.

Thank you! I think it will make me appreciate the 35th bag so much more :)

No major bag plans this year. I reshaped my bag collection last year and bought some jewelry. A few weeks ago, DH and I bought a second apt, a prewar with substantial outdoor space. It was a covid bargain; and, it’s in dire need of a year long full gut conversion, reconstruction and complete redecoration. And, after that‘s completed we plan to do the same with our first one. So, 2021 will be about that

thank you @anna2b2! I think your plan of waiting and researching your dream 35th year bag sounds perfect! you have a great plan for another house and stocks! We cannot live out of our bags and jewelry lol.

@Amazona, thank you! in the three years you have looked have your narrowed down the field? I find the best bargains require an open mind. In our case, we started the process absolutely refusing to consider a gut renovation but hoping to stay in close proximity to our first apartment. It just turned out to be a fantastic deal with great bones at the perfect time for us to buy. In the end. we fell in love and could not turn down. i wish that when I was in college or graduate school that I had half of your dedication!
