Not a true Coachie.... funny story

and just because they aren't a "coachie" they aren't idiots or morons or dip....

Thank you stormi. I'm sorry ladies, but we're not high and mighty just because we know more about Coach than the average woman does. We're actually the ones that are insane because we're so obsessed with Coach. Don't hate on someone just because they lead a normal life and don't frequent TPF like we do. I'm not trying to be mean or anything, I'm just saying it's not right to be that way.

I just can not imagine spending money on a Coach bag and not knowing the name of the style. It's a fair chunk of money (at FP) to spend and know nothing more about the bag other than it's a Coach.

For a lot people that is enough. Before I was enlightened by tpf, I was happy that I had a expensive bag with the COACH tag on it:D!

We are insane aren't we:laugh:! I don't mind that label!

I dont know the name of every coach, gucci, or lv. Even though they are my favorites. I do know how to be polite and it seems to me like the lady was being rude stressing it was a coach. Maybe you should have complimented her foach or goach and see what she said, lol. Funny story. Thanks for sharing.

Hey, I didn't say I don't mind that label either! I know I'm a Coachaholic and I'm proud of it. I just don't think it's right to belittle people because they don't know their bag is a Sabrina or whatever. There was even a thread not too long ago asking if you wish you could go back to the days before you knew about TPF so could buy bags like a normal person. Haha! Sometimes I wish I could because this Coach addiction is definitely bad news for my credit card.

But Arachne makes a good point, that lady with the Maggie was kind of rude about it. For that reason, I never actually call a bag by it's style name because in all honesty, most women do not know and you just look like a weirdo! Haha!

Hmmm...:thinkin: that is interesting. I think I would not have known the name at all of my first Coach handbag (black/black siggy Hampton swingpack with brass turnlock on the front pocket). I'd probably just say I am carrying the same handbag like the Coach salespeople wear at work.

I really started learning the names here at tPF. Names didn't matter to me much until I expanded my taste and wanted more than one Coach handbag and needed to discern one from the others. ;)

That's the thing, some people put a higher focus on the word "Coach" over all else and many 'Coach newbies' (like myself once) see the signature brand with the 'BIG Cs' as testament to that.

That woman must have spent full price on the handbag and thought that having the fake wallet was legitmized by owning the Coach Maggie. If she knew about the story behind fakes, finding better prices at the Coach outlets, and appreciating the overall history of Coach as a respected and elegant line, she'd chuck that wallet in a heartbeat--and perhaps develop a more humbler attitude like us Coachies here.

I couldn't resist and would reply, "Yeah, it's a Coach bag and I own two as well, but please please don't look down your nose at me because you own a Coach handbag and think you're better than me."
