Hello Lovelies!

I just got back from my appointment and will share what I bought.

Overall, the sale merchandise really didn't grab me this year. There was nothing that I saw that I just couldn't live without. Some basics, like jeans and underwear, seemed like good deals and similar quality to non-sale pieces. Shoes at my store were lackluster. Perhaps if you were looking for a standard bootie, or a pair of fashion sneakers, you might find something you like. I was particularly disappointed with the Veronica Beard merchandise. VB pieces usually fit me perfectly and are a good balance of work wear and quality, with a touch of flare. This year, I was disappointed in the fit and the quality of so many pieces. I'll get to that in a separate post.

I am 5'8", 155 lbs., 34F, usually a 6-8 dress size, and either a Small or Medium depending on the cut. Here's what I bought.

Halogen Shirt Dress in green. Size M. This is super-flattering. The little belt in the middle makes my waist look smaller, and the seaming on the dress makes me look more hourglass-shaped. I have a large bust, an average sized waist for a middle aged lady, and slim hips. This is definitely a win at $75!

Nordstrom Leopard Dress. Size S. This one is fun. My friend said it looked like something to wear to a chic party at your own home where you would be very comfortable. Also, she said it looked like there might be some THC and booze involved at the referenced party. I'm not sure what that means exactly, but she also said that she really liked it. 🤷‍♀️

FRAME Modern Pocket Jeans Size 27. These are really cute and flattering. My friend and I each bought them. She's an hourglass with thin legs. I'm an hourglass with muscular (thick) legs. Looked great on both of us. Good quality as well.

PAIGE Wide Leg Jeans Size 28. These are very soft and comfortable. I was not looking for them and didn't need them. I liked them enough that I bought them anyway. I didn't notice that they are size 28 until I got home. I will need to try them on and reassess whether I need a smaller size, as they are stretchy and lightweight. Quality seemed good.

FRAME Green Pointelle Cardigan Size M. Green is my favorite color. This is flattering and seems well-made. Wool/Cotton blend and the short sleeves are better for my climate.

Veronica Beard Striped Polo Size M. I already own this in solid black. The quality of this piece seems the same as the black version.

Rails "Denim" Shirt Size M. This is not denim! It is lyocell, and will need to be ironed. In my experience, this material is hard and wrinkled after drying. Steaming isn't enough. I mention that point because I don't like ironing. The fit and drape were nice, and I've been looking for this western style for a while. Not sure if it's worth the price tag, though. I find Rails to be over priced for the fabrics they use.

rag & bone Striped Polo Size M. This says it is black and white in the description. This is actually green. 💚 Really soft. More than 50% synthetic fibers. May return for that reason alone.

Finally, I am considering ordering this Nic + Zoe dress. They didn't have it in my store. Did anyone see it or try it on? Does anyone have thoughts on this one? I think it might be good for synagogue.

If anyone wants to see these pieces on me, let me know and I'll try to snap some pics.

Next post will be what I thought about some Veronica Beard pieces, with bonus thoughts about an Alice + Olivia dress.
Thank you!

Here is the All Saints shacket I bought. I do NOT know who signed off on this image and even in the video it doesn’t look as good as it does in person. I plan to wear mine with white jeans, a tshirt and sneaks for starters. I purchased a medium.
That's cute! And I don't think I would have picked it up based on the online pics.

For basics these are a must. I purchased all colors except for white. They feel GREAT and are good quality, I’m a huge fan of Tencil. I bought and XL in each. I wear a 38C..

Eileen Fisher has been a miss for me the past couple of years. But I loved this and it came home with me. Size small.

These Rag & Bone sneaks are super comfortable and a true grey. These Vince sneaks are just as comfortable and true to size as MUCH more comfortable then Adidas or New Balances for me. Both are true to size.
Thanks for the review of the tshirts! I have the black and white on my wish list but will probably pick up a grey now too. Just out of curiosity, where are they located? Same area as Caslon or Halogen?

Thank you for sharing! The Veronica Beard striped polo is on my wishlist. Downgraded this year to an influencer, hopefully it will still be around when it's my turn to purchase.

Hello everyone! So happy to see you again! A couple years ago, I bought a pair of very oversized olive green pants. Sat in my closet with tags for about a year. Kept trying them on and they were just a NO, what was I thinking? Actually returned them to Nordstrom and I think I still had the receipt. Anyway, have lots of favorite things from this sale over the years! Looking for comfortable boots this year to wear on a trip. Everyone, good luck with the preview tomorrow!
I see that some items say return any time and others say 90 days. I have often gotten jewelry as Christmas gifts for my DILs, which will not work with a 90 day return window. smh I wonder if they note it's a gift on the receipt that the return/exchange window will extend.

Love the Rag & Bone sneakers.

Totally agree. It’s super cute in person. Worth a try anyway if you are there.

You know I’m not sure, my CA pulled two colors for me and then had another gal go get two more colors when we were at the register. I think they are in the same department that has Pistola jeans.

I saw a woman trying to return a 90 day return window at the beginning of the year and it was a HARD no. They will not make exceptions. I believe it’s because they are third party vendors.

Yes, I noticed that too on some items I’ve bought from Nordstrom this past year. They’re coming from a vendor, so not with Nordstrom’s return policy and can only be returned at a Nordstrom store rather than the Rack.

https://www.nordstrom.com/s/8239254: I’m a 6/8 nowadays and this is a medium. It’s a bit roomy and I ordered a small for pick up. Tried on the small and like the fit better since I won’t be buttoning it up (I can still button up - waist is 28/29). I like its uniqueness, but style may be too cool for me. Keeping it for now.

https://www.nordstrom.com/s/8254940: I bought a version of this last year and for the life of me, I can’t find it in my closet 🫣 Not a good sign. This is a small. Jeans are the wrong size - I thought I grabbed a 6 but it’s an 8, and I ended up purchasing a 4: https://www.nordstrom.com/s/8223202

I didn’t think I would get any Farm Rio clothing this sale, but I loved these patterns and colors in person. The first is very cropped in small. I tried on the medium, but it was just wider and not longer. Second is XS.
