I think people are excited but the thrill has dwindled over the last few years. Last year I saw so many people exhausted with the loss of brands and quality of the items.

I'm definitely gonna stock up on basics but I'm over the thrill of the sale in general. The quality is so sub par, the trends are not panning out as much as they used to, and like most people say so many of these Anni sale items sit in our closets with tags on them. I've tried to resell them and they go for so much less than expected.

I just ask myself would I want this full price on a day where I didn't feel like they made this some sort of hunger games type shopping day.

The influencers have also exhausted people, they claim they buy just about everything and it's getting to be ridiculous. If I see one more person staring cross eyed into their phone and trying to pose like posh spice i'm gonna 🤮
I definitely don’t get excited like I used to back in the day. I almost feel like the Anniversary Sale is like outlet stores in the sense that there are a few items that aren’t made for the sale, but most of it is and the quality isn’t there. I don’t feel like I’m getting a deal anymore. Remember when outlet stores were actually a good deal?

Agreed outlets used to be amazing now they’re mostly items made specifically for the outlet store with terrible quality. The items on the Anni sale racks last year seemed like Nordstrom rack quality and seeing how a lot of them went down to 60%+ off a few months after the sale kind of solidifies my point.

You can’t even wear most of these items until the fall so just use google chromes price tracker to wait till then.

Again basics are great and some beauty items in the sale

On the flip side of things we've bought and never worn, what have you bought and worn to death? Aside from my beauty staples, this year I'm hoping to replace my everyday jewelry that all has come from Anni sales over the years. Gorjana earrings, Kate spade and Kendra Scott bracelets and necklaces - they're all starting to look rough but looking back at my purchase history some of these pieces I've had since 2017-2019! Pennies per use and they've held up amazing!

Frame jeans I got maybe 3 years ago. My favorite jeans. Also my Rag & Bone retro sneakers

Looked back at my purchases in the app for the past 4 years and it’s a lot that I love and wear regularly: Green leopard print t shirt, Monica Vinader turquoise ring, BFD PJs and cardigans, loungewear sets, L’Agence blazer, tshirts for husband, all kids clothing they wear to death, gold Nordstrom hoops, slippers, Smythe blazer, Z&V sweaters, Gibson shirt, madewell necklace.

I really do get a few key pieces each year and wear them a lot. And the stuff my kids have gotten has been worn a ton! I’m glad I looked back because now I’m excited!

My Vince and Reiss cardigans get worn a ton. I also adore my Paul Green sneakers, I bought them in white and black a couple of years ago and they are super comfortable.

Oh for sure I have a few items that are staples from the sales but those are mostly pre 2020 sales. I literally just ordered some new Gorjana pieces the other day, but like other brands they are not only not in the sale they’re no longer sold at Nordstrom.

Side note if you want some amazing quality clothing checkout Me+Em everything I’ve purchased from there has been top notch

Yes I love their items and it is a bummer that their items rarely goes on sale.

I'm also a fan of the Kendra Scott bracelets and earrings that I've bought at the sale over the years and there was practically nothing from her in last years sale

I'm sticking to workout/athleisure items this year that I wear to death, Zella and Nike, and my go-to jeans by Wit and Wisdom. I am going to avoid the temptation for another leather jacket!

I was hoping I would come home to a catalog today but nothing

I had a great 2022. zadig and Voltaire denim jacket, allsaints Caden leather jacket, 2 fancy pairs of MV earrings that I love. Last year I kept almost nothing except underwear and Zella LS tees. I wear underwear daily. Aren’t you all relieved to hear that?

I've gotten some great stuff from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. I made one of my best purchases 3 years ago. I bought a pair of stretchy Frame straight leg jeans that I still absolutely love. Everything about them is perfect -- the fit, the look, the wash, the length. They can be styled casually or dressed up. And they are so comfortable. They are the only jeans I ever want to wear, and I have a closet full of jeans. I've tried to replicate them, but none of the other Frame jeans I've tried look and fit like these.

I look forward to the sale every year and always end up buying at least a few pieces. Some years are better than others. I used to go a little crazy with the sale back in the day. I would get up at 3 a.m. and go online so I could get first pick on everything I wanted. They weren't doing the tier thing then, and I scored some great stuff that way. I also had two really nice Nordstrom stores within a half hour of where I lived (in either direction). I remember going to one and then driving over the bridge to get to the other on the same day. Those were great times!

I should have never looked back at my last year NAS items. There are 25+ items that I have not worn. I have not worn any of the 5 jewelry pieces or 2 fragrance sets (even though I still love them), my blazer, pjs, clothing I stalked...you get the picture. The funny thing is I would purchase them again if they were available this year.
So here I am this year awaiting the sale, and for what. I've talked myself into getting missing pieces in my closet ---white button blouse, hosiery, Jenni Bird necklace, and luxury beauty items because i don't have enough (ha,ha). Y'all-if you see a haul from me don't judge. I'm planning to use that closet stylist. Maybe we can do style boards from our picks during/after haul.
