I love the pleated skirt dress on you! And now I'm a bit disappointed that I didn't try on the Madewell striped sweater.
I definitely didn't need it, as I have a ton of striped sweaters. Bought it online last night, thinking I would return it and then saw it in store and really liked it in person. You should definitely try it!

Those dresses look great on you!

Whew. Just got home from a full day with my daughter. I ordered 25 items last night at the opening of the sale and I can tell after today in store at least 5 items will go back.

The Nordstrom oversized coat, didn’t like the quality or cut, the Halogen rolled neck sweater, didn’t like the quality, the striped Splendid sweater, liked the quality but those stripes are out of my comfort zone and I don’t think I’d grab for it with everything else I have in my closet.

This is the first year both my daughter and I were not wowed. Not even a little, the food wasn’t fresh or plentiful, the quality of clothes have gone down but the prices have gone up. I tried on several items at the store and walked out with nothing.

Which frankly I think is due to the above but also shows that these past several years of my revamping my closet and only adding in quality and “LOVE” pieces shows I might be done! {gasp} :P

I will say I tried on two pieces I have been thinking about. The crème leather bomber from Nordstrom was super cute. I just don’t know if I’d wear it. And then a tan zip up hoodie from Nordstrom that I REALLY loved but the knit make up caused me to think the $200 price tag was too much and that it would pill badly.
When you say the Nordstrom oversized coat, are you talking about the

Glen Plaid Oversize Notch Lapel Coat

I liked that one because it didn't look bulky. The Rag & Bone one I'm sure is better quality but it looked super bulky. I loved that entire outfit.

It seems like quality really took a nose dive before the Anniversary Sale last year. Cheaper materials, same price points. It's as if Nordstrom didn't think we would pay more for quality, and instead changed the fabrication hoping we wouldn't notice. I try not to purchase pieces that are more than 25% synthetic. Which rules a whole lot of things out. I hope you enjoy at least some of what you ordered when it comes in!

Yes, that’s the one. It was just too much for me. Too heavy, no give, just didn’t feel or look well on me.

I agree. Quality has gone down and they believe we won’t notice. I’m hoping I like something but you know. I shop all year so the three Rag and Bone Abigail knit blazers I bought this spring on clearance are definitely winners. They are great quality and I was able to snag them at $200 each.

Thank you for that, I won't bother preordering it tonight, will wait and see it but seems like an unlikely choice then. What I find interesting is many other stores are discounting select items that are not "made for the sale" and today Sephora had a one day sale on Kate Somerville

The double breasted sweater jacket is on my list to order tonight too - just wondering if you think it runs true to size - I was planning to order a medium which is the size I most often take in sweaters but sometimes Nordstrom brand is a little generous. It looks really nice on you too by the way.
I think if I went with my normal size, it would be a medium rather than a small. I like it more fitted, as I don't plan to wear anything thick underneath. I hope that helps!

I’m afraid for my wish list after the Ambassadors get 24 hours.

I’ve decided I’m just going to order everything at 11pm tomorrow night & cash in my last doubly points day then. I RSVPd for the influencer event, but I don’t think I can make it anyway.

I really want the red shoes. Every time I see some on IG or FB post them, I’m like “shut up don’t tell people!”

Maybe they’re like a neutral red. Is that a thing? Not too blue but not too orange. I’m going with that.

Which red shoes? I am planning to order the Mansur Gavriel ones.

My order tonight is for 11 items - most of which was posted way back on page 18 - so nothing much changed since my initial
reaction to the sale. I've added a Chantelle bra and some panties and another Nordstrom brand pima cotton t-shirt. I'm also going to try the Halogen black sweater dress and a pair of the knit NYDJ pants in charcoal. First year I'm not purchasing any beauty or pj's. Only getting one piece of jewelry, the Monica Vinader snake chain in silver, which is something basic but I've always passed on it before. So it's a very basic fill in kind of year for me. Still love what I'm getting because I know I'll use everything. Plus I just enjoy seeing what everyone here gets.

A couple of things on my maybe list after my initial order are the Ecco soft 7 sneakers (just not sure of color), the Frank and Eileen patrick popover and the Varley Long line knit jacket in bronze. Was hoping someone will eventually post something about either item here.

The Monica Vinader is a great choice. I wear my so\i;ver pieces daily.

Frank and Eileen is GREAT quality, and great comfort. And even though it’s casual, I always feel put together in their pieces.

I love the turtleneck and pleated skirt on you. I had them both on my wishlist then took them off. Once I saw your pic I put it back on! Is the sweater itchy? That’s my main concern.
I didn't think the sweater was itchy while I was trying it on. I haven't tried it on again at home yet, but will tonight and will report back.

Update: I tried it on again without any shirt underneath and it feels a bit itchy. I have sensitive skin and I am currently running hot in this weather, so that could also contribute to the itchiness.
