SAME! The AllSaints jacket from last year that I just HAD to have because it was sold out is still sitting in my closet - never worn! Honestly, I have never worn a cropped leather jacket - just an impulse purchase
I also returned an All Saints jacket that I bought last summer. The one with the tiny metal studs. I was so excited to get it, but I just never wear it. I like the All Saints Chase jacket from the year before better. I find it extremely hard to predict which of my favorite items will still be my favorite items months later. Why is this so hard?! I wish I could decide at the time what I would love and what I wouldn’t with more accuracy. If other people have solved this problem, I would love to know how!! Can this be part of our discussion in June while we’re waiting?

I did the return two weeks ago and it was no problem at all. I think as long as you don’t do this all the time, it’s fine.

I think that sometimes the "thrill" of the hunt can drive us to purchase items that we think we're going to wear later but end up sitting unloved. Something to try this year is, in the next few weeks, go through your wardrobe and pull out any items that still have tags on them. Clear a little space in your closet, or use a garment rack if you have one, and hang up all of those items together as if you were seeing them in store. Make sure they're visible as you're building your Nordstrom wish list! You might find that the cute leather jacket or cardigan or trousers that catch your eye on the website are already in your house... and paid for!

I would also suggest, be honest with yourself but don't be MAD at yourself... just use what you learn to be more mindful of your future purchases. For example, I'm always drawn to ankle boots. A couple years ago, I ended up making a spreadsheet of my entire shoe collection... organized by type of shoe, color and I added a column for notes where I could write notes about comfort or whatever. Seeing it plain and simple that I had, like, 6 pairs of black block heel boots and I only really liked 3 of them was enough to help push me towards being more ruthless in my donation/selling items and slowing my purchases of new stuff.

Just some ideas that have worked for me and could be useful to this community, too!

This year for NAS I'm going to look through my sweater collection first, because I know I always get tempted by that category :) But I definitely need some new bras and a refill of my eyebrow serum... those are my only "must-haves."
