Wow I got your post in my email and then was confused because it wasn’t here. Attaching a photo. Let’s see if the mods catch this “off topic” photo. :graucho:

And yea… an expensive bracelet in a plastic bag?! COME ON NORDSTROM. GET IT TOGETHER.

Thank you! Presentation does matter!

Also, I want to make it clear, this bracelet was purchased during the NAS at the discounted sale price. Not sure how that can be off topic.

I don't think you are being too picky at all.

I just ordered a couple of items from Maison De Sabre and even a little leather charm came in its own nice box. I would 100% expect a nice box with an expensive jewelry purchase.

Thank you! And because it was special order - I waited since July for this piece and Bony Levy sent it in a plastic bag. Thanks for sharing your experience.

The item with the biggest price change for me is the Paul Green Unity sneaker which is now $47 less. I bought the white pair and haven't worn it yet. It's the only thing I'm considering re-ordering and I'm wondering if I need either of the other two colors. Anyone buy the Sand Biscuit or Pearl White Combo?
I just reordered the Blondo Raniah waterproof boots because they dropped $30 and will return the ones I bought at the anniversary sale and the Blondo Symone waterproof knee high boot dropped $18 so those might be a return. I haven't worn either pair.

Most of the Zella live pocket joggers are down to $39 and $42 from $45 anniversary sale price but I have already worn them so can't return. This is a good lesson for next year not to get so caught up in the early access shopping frenzy!!

The Paul Greens are really beautiful. The rave reviews and photos here are weakening my resistance. I was just reading Nordstrom reviews saying that they run 1/2 size larger. Do they run true to size? or did anyone size down? Last problem will be to decide on color. Thought I would want white but that sand color is a lovely neutral.
I ended up ordering all 3 colors because I really like the shoes 🙈.

I'm a 9.5/10 and always get 9.5 in PG. I still have room for socks in these, although I will probably wear them barefoot.

I don't think Nordstrom's photo's do any justice to the Paul Green's. The color is much prettier in the photo's I've seen here and look really nice on the foot. I'm leaning toward the sand because I like the same color sole and the mix of metallic gold and solid leather with suede. Thanks for the help on sizing. I'm almost always a 9 so I think I'll start there since I would probably wear with socks.

Just a heads up for everyone on Nordstrom alterations . . . I took a couple items in as I still had most of my $300 annual alterations benefit left. We're talking basic alterations on a dress and skirt that I purchased at Nordstrom earlier this year, one bought during the anni sale. The charges:

$90 for the skirt hem
$80 for the dress hem

So, the total with tax was around $200. The dress cost around $150 on sale and the skirt was a bit less so those fees to take up the hem a few inches (not complicated hemlines either) just seemed outrageous. I was . I've had jeans hemmed for something around $35 in the past by Nordstorm, so I was expecting something in that range per item.

Now, I'd get those dollars back in Nordstrom notes as I had most of my alterations benefit available, so I actually went ahead with it, mostly because I'd already tried everything on and gone through the pinning process for each item and I'd waited in line to do it.

A few days after this, I got an email notice from Nordstrom stating that, starting in October, basic alterations will be free for all Nordstrom shoppers with Icons getting unlimited free alterations. I wonder what they consider a "basic" alteration to be? Hopefully, that will include hems lol. From what I read in the terms and conditions, it looks like Influencer retains the $200 annual alterations benefit and Ambassador the $300 benefit. I guess these dollars would apply to alterations that are not considered basic?

So, just be aware of the new policy starting in October. Also, if you take items in for alteration, I'd get the tailor to give you an estimate first (my fault for not doing so) before you try anything on and start the process.

Another new alteration policy is that the alteration credit is for Nordstrom purchases only, not Nordstrom rack. Last year, I took an inexpensive Nordstrom rack dress for major alterations and it was all free! Now, I was told you can only apply the alteration credit to Nordstrom store purchases. But I'm not sure how they would know if you took the tags off - they never asked to see a receipt :P

Morning all! Soooo many items (maybe all of them???) from the anniversary sale are on sale again starting today!! Hokas, nordstrom brand, isabel marant sweatshirt, and more
So fast! I ordered the Vince rib tees in white and black. They’re cheaper now than during AS!

ETA: and I ordered EF wide leg pants. I think this is the temp Labor Day promo; there will likely be a larger clearance discount in Oct like someone mentioned.

P.S. the Oribe gold lust s&c set is a GREAT deal. I’d get it if I didn't buy Alterna moisturizing shampoo yesterday at NR.

Oh this totally sounds like a situation where lying is the way to go. The fact that they offer this $300 benefit and then charge $90 for a hem is so dumb. When did they even stop doing free basic alterations? I wondered this when I saw the thing about “starting in October basic alterations will be free” - I recycled it and was like…. Yeah… so?? aren’t they always??
Seriously, though, weren’t they always free until recently? I remember back in the day going back to school shopping with my mom and we would get everything hemmed or tweaked however I wanted and they would encourage us to do this. All free. No limit and no Nordstrom card required. Until a couple years ago it was still this way because I would always use my alterations credit for either Nordstrom rack stuff or for non-Nordstrom items. Nordstrom store did not count against the credit. I didn’t lie or anything - they would ask if it was purchased at Nordstrom and I’d say no and then there was a normal charge for rack items and an up charge for non-Nordstrom. Like maybe $20 to hem rack jeans and $40 for non-Nordstrom. I’d bring in all kinds of non-Nordstrom stuff in December when the credit was about to expire. I even did a bridesmaid dress about 15 years ago. I haven’t altered anything in a couple years so apparently everything went to hell recently. Bummer. (It’s probably because of my 30+ years of shenanigans that they changed the policy. Sorry y’all!)
