Hello, I would have a hardware question, please. I will have my first meeting to discuss my dream Kelly next month and maybe i just searched incorrectly...but:

Is there any price difference between GHW and SHW/PHW, please?
And also - is there some limitation that for example some colours would be created only with one type of HW?

Price is the same. Most colors can be found in both GHW and PHW but there are a few (namely candy pinks off the top of my head) that generally only come in one (PHW).

I prefer noir with gold H/W, in fact I prefer the majority of colours with gold H/W. I'm a purist at heart so I prefer the original Hermès H/W colour and I would like even more brass H/W, which was the only H/W available until sometime in the 80's.

I used to think I was'nt overly bothered by HW colours BUT in the past year or two I've realised that silver just feels more me.
I mix gold and silver in rings and necklaces but all my watches and bracelets are silver coloured and when it comes to bags I just think phw looks less 'bling' especially on a Kelly or Birkin.
That said I do own a vintage rouge H kelly with the older very gold (Permabrass perhaps?) hardware and I really dont think Silver would look as nice on a rouge H box leather bag (I'm happy to be proven wrong)
I realised hardware is a deal breaker these days for me when I spotted a Kelly on the resale market in a discontinued colour I love at a decent price..I was all set to pull the trigger when I sat back looked at the images for a final time and realised I just did'nt like the gold hardware and could'nt see myself ever being 100% happy with said bag for that reason.

Honestly, I think noir looks best with RGHW, but due to the reviews of it tarnishing easily, it's a no no for me. I'd stick with PHW for a Birkin as it looks more casual. (Still waiting for my first Birkin BTW)

I have one with GHW, while my SIL has one with PHW (both are B30).

I've never been too picky when it came to hardware, sure perhaps there are some colors in which GHW looks better than PHW and vice versa, but that's a personal preference. Originally my black Birkin was supposed to have PHW (everyone back in 2020 wanted PHW on black) and I was presented with 2 choices:

1. B30 Matte Porosus in black with PHW
2. B30 Togo black with GHW

Took the one in Togo, because I didn't feel like splurging over 40K for a bag in 2020.

The GHW instantly catches my eyes 👀

I agree with most that GHW gives it a fancier vibe whereas the PHW gives a more casual vibe

Very nice to see them side by side! 😃

My first b25 is noir with rghw. It does tarnish and I use a gold polish cloth once a year and it looks good as new. I really have no complaints and I love it so much.

Phw.

I have owned gold with ghw and noir with ghw, and I felt like a preppy Ralph Lauren ad.
Agree with those that think phw is more modern and edgy, but everyone is different . . .
