No date code in favorite mm!!

When I used to be really active on this forum prior to 2013, I don't remember this level of obsession with getting a bag with a "new" date code. 10 months old is really nothing... I've been buying LV since 2006 and I don't think I'd ever checked how "new" my bags are until I came back to TPF in 2019 and saw everyone obsessing over getting bags with new date codes. If the bag is in perfect condition without signs of use, does it really matter?

Help please? would a 0220 date code mean it was made 2nd week of 2020? is a possible returned item or is that still considered a rather new piece? I'm so new to this!!!! It also didn't have a little card tied on the ribbon... is there any way to find out if you're the original recipient to first touch a piece?

Yes. 2nd week of 2020.
Once again, I'm not sure of the obsession over a date code. Why does it make you think it's a return?
I would gladly buy a discontinued bag from 2016, 2017, 2018 with those date codes if the bag was in perfect condition.
If it bothers you you can try to return. Personally I think it's silly to obsess over when something was made

The wrapping of the item does't mean anything because the items aren't stored pre-packaged in the box. They're stored in their dust bags and the SA wraps it for you after you've decided to purchase. Also if the item is from the store, it's likely that it may have been looked over by at least a few other people who decided not to buy it. I don't think there is any way to make sure you got a bag untouched from the factory unless you stalk the shipment schedule to the store and buy only when they get fresh stock. If you are happy with the condition of the bag then I wouldn't sweat it too much

What was the item you bought? I don’t use the card, maybe they forgot to include it. As long as the item is fine, why worry about it?

Thank you all so much!! I wasn’t sure how they’re supposed to come packaged and each piece was different. I received the PM mono, PM reverse, vanity PM, and mini pochette de.

PM mono looked a bit beat up and glazing was not smooth. PM mono just felt sort of flimsy. Was just worried if many returned pieces are what’s being sent out? The other pieces, however, we’re fine!!! W older date codes so likely keeping them

thats pretty weird.

however i wanted to share don’t take for granted even if it’s from boutique, you can’t guarantee What some dishonest ppl out there would do... I bought a DE mini Pochette just 1 week ago(end March. 2020 ) from LV website. When it delivered , the date code was for May 2019. That’s almost 10mths old!!! Everything looked authentic but i suspect someone may have ordered it before me and returned the older one and kept the new one. Anyways, I wasn’t comfortable and returned the bag.

Mine is from 2019 too and was beautiful. Doesn’t matter to me if it was older and someone returned it for a newer one, also an older date code doesn’t necessary indicate a return. I don’t care when or where my item was made, so long as it’s a good one and looks good

So I was recently able to snag a fav mm in DA on the website after stalking for days. I already own the favorite mm in Mono that was purchased at a LV store in Paris in 2017. So I know its authentic. But today after looking at my new one, I got curious to see when my mono was made and I can't find a date code!! I looked in the normal spot and all over and nothing. Could they have forgotten? The crazy part of my brain is now wondering if its actually fake somehow like it was switched or something. HELP

My pm reverse (the second one) didn’t have a date code, unlike the first one I received which I returned. When I called CS they said this was normal actually- many newer bags of various styles are no longer coming with visible date code to avoid counterfeiting. Date code is inside the bag now, so that it can be identified for recall purposes but no visible date code is starting to happen now for newer pieces

Hi. I was wondering if you found the date code? coz I found mine inside the pocket
