I personally don't want kids (not into that lifestyle change--hey, some people don't want pets...), but if I were to get a baby bag for a friend:
Juicy Couture Baby Bag (or the Daydreamer)
Petunia Picklebottom (but EVERYONE has those bags...and there are a lot of imitations out there)
Louis Vuitton Cabas Mezzo
Whatever you do, don't get those fugly bags made of plastic with zoo animals on them (gag!)
You want a bag that can be used after the baby grows up! Maybe to give to the baby when he/she gets older : )

There are so many fashionable diaper bags out there these days. No longer do you have to sport the plastic giraffe and lion bag.

My personal favorites are the Ju-Ju-Be bags. These are desgined by a mother who understands fashion sense. There is so many features packed into these bags included a magnetic closure so you don't have to fuss with zipping or snapping. Very thoughtful.

My husband and I are expecting and I am definately getting one of these bags. The brown/bubble gum is a very hot color. They come in the tote, backpack, larger diaper bag and a smaller bag.

Congratulations!! I would select a diaper bag based upon the type of stroller you chose since you will probably attach the diaper bag to the stroller. So your hands can be free for baby. I have the Bugaboo stoller so I bought the diaper bag that went along with it....because of the angle of the bars I wanted something that would fit and be balanced as far as weight. It is sporty looking....not my favorite...but it works with that stroller.

My Db overheated SO much in the bugaboo cameleon that I bought the MacClaren carbon fiber stroller for the warmer weather. For that one, it is easier to sling a bag over the top. So I bought the Gucci diaper bag, which I love. It is wider than the Bugaboo so it makes it very easy to find everything. I just put the bottles of formula and now baby food jars in a plastic ziplock bag in case of breakage. Knock-on-wood....so far so good! LOL.

There were some pretty pictures of diaper bags above....so I would go and look and see what you like in person.

Now....the important thing is handbags!! Use and enjoy your hand-held and more delicate bags now while you are pregnant. Once baby is here, you will probably find a shoulder bag and one that is a bit more roomy more practical. I LOVE hand-held bags, but realized I couldn't hold baby and a bag at the same time.

I know this isn't a baby chat....but I highly recommend Dr. Karp's "Happiest Baby on the Block"....his techniques were a lifesaver. Now, I just wish I read that book while pregnant rather than in my pediatrician's office a few months later while waiting for an appointment. (They put you in one of the doctor's offices rather than the waiting room when you have a newborn). Read everything you want to now.....and rest....and go out and fun!

Congratulations!! Kids are terrific, I have three kids and have gone through a ton of diaper bags. It is just an extention of my purse collection!
