That was my thought, too, I didn't recognise her. She stuns, yes, but not in the expected way. Too much plastic surgery, what a shame. If she's happy with it all, ok, but she didn't need it........her appearance has changed a huge amount.

I don't get it. Was this year's Met Gala theme "Look old and odd"??
Nicole Kidman, JLo, Zendaya, all beautiful women who looked much older and ickier than normal.

It was Garden of Time and the exhibition was on reawakening Sleeping Beauties - the recreation of an archival piece makes perfect sense. I think she looks beautiful, although not quite herself.

she's an excellent actress.....too bad she feels the need to try to look like she's eternally 20-something

I have a soft spot for her, I think she went through some serious ish with Tom.
Yeah, me too. I think she's a very authentic person deep down. She had a terrible time dealing with the divorce from Tom, picked herself up and just kept going. The moment I took her seriously as Nicole Kidman "the actress" was in that movie The Hours. She was so incredibly good as Virginia Woolf.

She turned a very bad situation/ breaking point, and fueled that into creating motion picture art.

I didn't care for the Hours and her prosthetic nose. Virginia Woolf and her family were considered to be very beautiful at the time, and they made the focus on the nose and Kidman looked so miserable because of that thing on her face. I also thought anyone could play that part.

I realized Kidman was a good actress when I saw the Aussie series, Bangkok Hotel (so upsetting) that she could be funny, as in To Die For, and she could play heartbreaking as she did in The Others.

Many are in their 50's. They are no longer the young stars of yesteryear, even if they think they are or still wish to be. Everyone gets older (if they're lucky) and now we are seeing how they really look, which is their true age, or maybe older if they've dieted to extremes and/or indulged in plastic surgery, rather than filtered and photo-shopped pictures that they've controlled for release. They can't remain in the past for ever. Newer and younger actresses and singers etc are appearing all the time, that's the cycle of life.
It's not their ages, I think it's their makeup. All of their makeup made them look a little off. Maybe that's what they were going for, but I'm not a fan.
