The documentary is definitely worth watching even if you are not a fan. I would support her regardless because of the West Indian connection. The St. James performance made me teary-eyed. I can't imagine that anything can compare to performing at home. The only other thing might be ensuring your parents never have to worry about anything financially again.

Are you guys talking about the BET or MTV doc? I only saw the MTV one, and though I think she has a cute personality, she is developing quite the ego. When she was apologizing to her team and saying that when she yells at them, she doesn't mean it, I was like, girl, you have not been in the game long enough to yell at your team. Bey, sure. Mariah, heck yes. Nicki? She's not there yet. Her people seemed to love her though, so I have to think maybe the ego is an act.
^True, but I think in order to get to Mariah & Beyonce level you have to have a strong team backing you. If you don't go hard on them from the beginning then it's just a waste of time. I think that's where a lot of artist go wrong, they don't have the right people. There are so many artist that I want to excel but wonder why 4 years later, I'm the only one that knows about them.
I don't want Nicki to get ahead of herself because I would definitely consider Queen Latifah a female rap mogul. i watched the special. I think thats just her personality whether she has a record deal or not. Kind of reminds me of me only in more extreme form. I thought she was very funny. Hilarious that she said she was fired from every job she had. lol
I'll have to agree to disagree. Nicki could be replaced in a nanosecond; her team is working extremely hard to make sure she gets to the top. Maybe it's because I've been an executive assistant to someone in a very high, prestigious position, but I always feel like if you treat your team like they are nothing, you shouldn't be surprised when they take their talents elsewhere. If you have the right people, you show them that by treating them well. Couple her comments with how she treats her team with her article in the Rolling Stone where the author quotes her as yelling at her assistant, and sorry, I have to side-eye her. She's got a cute personality, like I said, but I stand by my opinion.
^ This! I totally agree about the right team and the right people. She used to be part of the DipSet crew....they can't even mange themselves let alone a young female rapper.

^ Smart traveller! But as I said, it is still common for more people to bring cash when they go on vacation. And I personally do not know any travellers going back "home" like Nicki did that use traveller's checks. It's probably the reason why locals think all people from "foreign" are rich.
