I would also try Leon Mege's bands. They are absolutely gorgeous! If you go for the sandwich look, I would go with something very thin. Here are two examples of Leon's thin bands.

However, if you like the 3mm width (and I prefer this width myself), then a share prong would be lovely! I wanted something slightly less share prong, and not quite channel set. I ended with this Leon Mege band. :D

Something to note...Harriet on PS is in the throes of a serious workmanship issue with Leon. And she's not the first I have read about recently. HE does not make many pieces. His staff makes most. So keep that in mind.

^^Wow, I had no idea there were issues with his work! I understand that Harriet from PS had many gorgeous pieces made by Leon or his team. I'm sorry and very surprise to hear that Harriet and others are having issues with the craftsmanship. I can only say that I am completely happy with the items he or his team have made for me, and would not hesitate to return to him for future pieces.

Thimp, your ring is beautiful!

I've seen Leon's bands & think they're exquisite.

Ame....you raise a good point. Many of these artists will hire apprentices to work on pieces or sections of pieces of work. One famous glass paperweight-maker comes to mind, Paul Stankard. And Dale Chihuly is the same in that he uses artists/apprentices to assist him in creating his pieces. But the attention to detail is second to none.

HIS handiwork IS exquisite. Like...TDF. But I don't know how much he controls what comes out of the shop like he should. If it's got his stamp, or in the case of one PS posters an "IFAN MEGE" stamp, you'd think he'd want to be hyper controlling about that stuff.

Her wedding band has been a series of issues, and when she addressed it he gave her crap about how he designs his rings to not be worn besides others and that it's her fault for having workmanship issues becuase she wore her wedding band beside her e-ring, which he also made, and is a plain plat solitaire. She had issues with stones falling out of rings, esp her wedding band, and the repair work being inferior. And his diva attitude to the issues did not help with the case.

I think part of her main issues is him claiming her actual designs (As in SHE drew them and he made them to match drawings) as his own and reselling them without even telling her he was doing so. He also stole images she took herself with her camera from her Facebook and posted them on his site without crediting her and in some cases messed with color to make it look like a totally different gemstone than it really was.

Besides her, I remember a poster named Matatora who had him recreate a 3 stone with pear sides and the entire ring bent from her putting it on and taking it off each day. She had worn it for maybe 6 months before she noticed a serious dent and sway to the shank. He fixed it but she might have had more issues since. I don't talk to her as much anymore since she's been busy with doctorates and whatnot.

That said, many folks have been very happy with his work. But for someone who has rules of engagement and rules on how to buy from him and speak with him...ehhh not going to win a lot of hearts if they abide by those and then you send them something they have issues with.

But I wouldn't turn it down if it was given to me. ;)

OK..THIS I take issue with. As an artist myself, I'd be pretty ticked off if the same were done to me. In fact, I DID have my website images stolen of my art-work and used to sell non-authentic items.

Thing is, it's difficult to copyright images/ideas/designs.....especially if they have been sited here, there....everywhere.

At the end of the day, SHE knows those were HER designs. But to the thousands accessing HIS site, that's not the 1st thing they're going to investigate. And at the end of the day, it's all about making money, right?

ETA: Leon's CORRECT response in that scenario would have been to say he was "inspired" by that person to create this fabulous piece! That way he could have claimed it as his own while giving HER the credit she deserves

Yea she is a lawyer, so she's pretty well versed in intellectual property and knows that despite what he tries to weave into his work orders, the initial design that you present if you in fact designed it out yourself, is still yours.

Either way...she's pretty much done with him. Quality issues aside, his attitude totally sucks.

Good to know because celebs can only take you so far.

So DH feels that NOTHING is wrong with my current wedding band! He wants to know if I've joined a "band of the week" club! ;)

BUT.....at least he's open to looking at we'll go by this weekend to see if we can snap a few shots of the Novos sandwiching my e-ring. I may need to get one band at a time but we'll see.

My DF is honestly sick of jewelry, he doesn't understand the obsession! He calls me his little magpie because I'm attracted to anything shiny and sparkly! When we went wedding ring shopping, I'm pretty sure he drank his weight in the free cappucino that the jewelry stores give away while I tried on rings!

However like all darling SO(s) they just give in. I think they've realized that it's easier to give in than to try and fight it!

Glad I'm not alone!

My DH asked me if he thinks "I can wait" for these bands. Of course I can......question is, do I really have to???!!!!

Of course you can't wait! I'm the type of person that when I get an idea in my head for something, I go out and get it! There's no waiting around unless ordering dictates the timetable!

For example, my DF and I only have one car. With splitting time between NYC and Cleveland, we only need one car and you definitely don't need a car in NYC. He moved to Ohio/NY for me and we agreed to trade my Mercedes in for a "family friendly car". Now I LOVED and I do mean LOVED my Benz, it was a C300 (entry level) sedan, but it was all mine. It was my first car loan in my short 29 years that was totally in my name so I was very proud of it. We looked at cars and I wanted either an Audi Q7 or a Volkswagen Touareg. The Audi ended up being slightly out of our price range for the features that we wanted, so we decided to go with the Touareg. I was very specific about what I wanted in said Touareg. VW said they would have to order it in the specs that I wanted and it would take about 3-4 weeks. I was okay with that, until DF suggested we go look at something else. I adamantly refused and said that I already picked out what I wanted, there was no going around it. Let's just say he backed off! So yes, I could have looked at something else, but I really didn't want too!
