New Vevers Ad Campaign. Your thoughts are...?

I'm wondering why people are complaining about the colors likes this company only made brown and black. Coach has always made a range of colored bags, but you all know their will be neutral colored versions.

My thoughts are: :speedy: That is me buying another line of bags lol. :p

Seriously, I am older than 16 (which looks like the average age of the model in this photo) so, I am sure my opinion doesn't matter. But this ad does not make Coach look expensive, premium, exclusive, or trendy. It looks like all these girls just got back from the suburban mall, where they were shopping instead of going to tenth grade English. 16 year old girls cannot buy premium bags unless their parents buy them for them, so there should be a mother with a credit card hiding behind fence or in the weeds in the background. :D:p
I am definitely with you about the ad itself. And I'm a high school English teacher, by the way. Lol.

Not into it at all. :(

The bags are cute and fun for the girls as shown, not really expensive or luxurious looking IMO.

The new Boroughs however, in suede, being simplified without multiple zippers, look rich and classic with an edge:heart:

I get that the idea was to highlight the brightness of the bags by using a simple b&w palette on the models, but....I agree with a previous poster who said something about the color scheme just looking off. Perhaps if the girls had been wearing monochromatic outfits in a neutral shade, the bags would have "popped" rather than clashed (IMO).

And yep, the models are definitely girls. Nothing wrong with that, necessarily. It's just that the bags themselves are cute. And cute bags with cute young girls....amplifies the CUTE and doesn't do much for the ideas of luxury or exclusivity. Oh, well. I don't have a problem with the colors on their own. In fact, I particularly like the teal color.

I'm guessing I won't be plunking down the cash for these specific bags, though. :sneaky:

I agree with the above. The bags are cute, but don't really distinguish the Coach brand. I still feel like I have seen bags like these before, as in they look non-unique enough that I am not sure why they are the bags to supposedly drive Coach in a new direction. I don't dislike them...they are cute, but I am not sure they really take Coach the direction they are hoping for.

I am not interested in the AD - nor the folk in the AD - my only interest is the quality and price of these bags!!!!!

BIG +1 on that!! Quality in hand and priceing is the ONLY selling point for me.
That being said.....This ad doesn't speak to me at all. The bags seem more country western to me and seem to clash with what the girls are wearing...Put the girls (or maybe even try a woman LOL) in some faded jeans, boots, white shirt and leather vest and I can see the purse POPPING. LOVE the COLORS of the bags but it ends there and even with that, the ad itself just seems overall drab. I have loved and been ADDICTED to Coach for a few years now and expect luxury....That bag, as cute as it might be, and as others have already stated, does not say luxury (maybe IRL it might) and I have my limits on what I am willling to pay for "cute".

I like the pink and the light blue bag but for me it depends on the quality and the price as previous posters have noted. They could have saved money and left the models out and just had pictures of the bags with the prices beside them!

As for the ad, I'm a grown woman and really have nothing in common with the younger people in the ad other than gender. I don't look like them, I don't dress like them and I don't think the ad is promoting the luxury market that Coach claims they are going after......IMO, Coach needs to figure out who they are marketing to and what they are marketing (luxury vs. contemporary handbags, etc.) because they are looking confused to me right now.

In general, I prefer ads that spotlight the merchandise and not the models......unless the model is a hot, middle-aged man!

Agree. Coach had a place with the classics and legacy looks. But this is very young. Maybe they want the younger upcoming market. Too bad for people like me who like the classics. But I hope maybe there will be something more like the classic lines. I know a new designer needs to establish but it will be a very different Coach. I too am looking at other brands because I need to find something I can really use with my style.

I liked this bag, but now seeing it on the model, strap doesn't look long enough to crossbody and I can't tell if its adjustable. I'll comment more when I actually get to see the new bags. ImageUploadedByPurseForum1405518693.062973.jpg

+1

They also have the old "heroin chic" look, thin and angry or bored. Emotionless at least.

This picture could also double for an ad for a new CW series. Like Pretty Little Liars or something.

The bags are nice, I like the colors and details. But the quality and price will be what makes the decision for me. Especially if there are no more PCE's. I'm not going to spend $500 on a bag I'm not absolutely in love with.

The bags are nice, but I don't think the ads make much sense. They say they are trying to appeal to the "more monied consumers" but the ads show high school aged girls. Since when do they have any money not provided by their parents?

They should be designing for all women. But if they need a target, it should be the young professional, that's the woman with extra money of her own who can afford to buy several bags a year. Or even the older women (gasp) who have less family obligations, and now have time and money to spend on themselves.
