The medium isn’t heavy at all It’s one of the most comfortable crossbody bags out there. You just have to really check the preowned bags well. Check all the zippers for any tarnish and make sure they move smoothly. And check interior. Look for a bag with clean fabric with no rub marks. Lastly, I’d recommend avoiding the version with the zipper strap. Original version is first choice. The more recent version with the strap that is in two parts is second choice
Yes, the style is similar to other designers as it's somewhat of a classic satchel shape. That said, as someone who owns 4 TF bags, 2 wallets and numerous scarves along with my Chanel, LV, Hermes, Gucci, Tod's, Ferragamo, Fendi, Saint Laurent and Prada..... I can tell you that Tom Ford quality is at the top of the list. Workmanship is excellent, leathers and suede are on par with Hermes and the hardware is unique and made to not fade, tarnish or lose plating. I've only shopped at the TF boutique in Vegas but their customer service is excellent too. His bags, other than the original Jennifer, aren't that recognizable, but that actually appeals to me. I prefer discreet luxury and even with my other designer bags I lean towards logo free styles. Not all TF designs are my taste but I do think that his bags are worth their price.
