New Tom Ford Jennifer bag

It looks nice but I'd rather put that amount of money into an LV empriente bag :-)

I own both, a TF bag and a LV Empreinte bag, see my sig! Also have EPI stuff. The TF leather really feels amazing. I love LV but the price for this leather quality is insane! TF's leather on the other hand can't get much better. You see it and it looks like a 2500€ bag! The LV Empreinte bags don't look like 2000-3000€ bags at all.

In general I think that TF will one day become the bag designer to go with. Amazing leather quality and very distinctive, innovative bag designs even though it's not for everybody. I guess the price and the modern style is the reason why TF bags are still niche products!

You have to see and feel a TF bag in person! Again I love LV but there leather quality is very disappointing imo. Maybe it will last forever but it doesn't feel like it, esp Empreinte leather!

And when it comes to style most, not all, of TF bags were there first if I'm not totally wrong. Most designs were copied from TF!

My Alix Bag won't be my last TF bag, that's for sure. OK I got it for an amazing sale, 1000€! Still I would have paid more for it too! Still I wouldn't pay the normal TF price for it, on sale it's worth every penny to me even for a higher price than 1000€!

PS: I also do wonder why there is no TF Forum here!

I've posted requests for the mods to add a TF section but maybe posting the request in this thread isn't the way to go, since I never received a response. Would love to see it added some day, just not sure who to ask, and how????????

I still prefer the Sedgwick tote. The handles in the Jennifer satchel are awkward.

I think this is one designer that you really need to see the bags in person. Something like awkward handles might not be obvious in stock photos. And it works both ways.....I just bought a Jennifer bag ( original design but updated, new from boutique ) and always thought it looked good on JA (what doesn't ????) but that it would be awkward. I was wrong. Love the bag and it's now my go to daily bag, easiest bag to carry. To clarify..... There are several "Jennifer " bags in the collection now. The original design, updated with minor changes to lining & leather ; mini cross body; shoulder bag with a shorter strap and Jennifer with changeable strap that switches from shoulder to cross body. And the large version. Confusing, I know because some look almost identical and outside the TF boutique at stores like Neiman Marcus, they aren't familiar enough with ALL the bags, just what they happen to have on hand, which can make it hard to get the perfect bag for you. In my experience

Thank you for the clarification. And thank you for the information about the hardware on your previous post. I'm so gonna look into TF bags.

This is how the Jennifer bags are best explained : the new version with modified strap. The new strap is a single piece of leather and will adjust by removing the extension so it can be worn short, high under the shoulder, or leave the extension on and carry cross body. Pictured without extension (price $2990)

The original version : the body and leather are exactly the same as the new one with modified strap. The original Jennifer can be adjusted to fall at the hip if worn over one shoulder, or lengthen to fall at the hip if you decide to go cross body which is most common. It's been updated from the very first release, which was smooth leather and lined in leather. The smooth leather is the one seen on Jennifer Aniston. The most recent season releases have a slightly pebbled leather and alacantra lining, which made for a friendlier price point, but still a luxe bag ( photo courtesy of Tom Ford website ) price $2990

The shoulder bag version has a strap with 8 inch drop. I can't find a good pic of it but it was at Neiman Marcus and a SA sent me a pic I no longer have. When carried on shoulder the bag hangs at high waist. The strap looked as if it could be adjusted an inch or so, but not worn cross body. Price $2860

Also...... Good news for those interested in Tom Ford bags but don't have a boutique nearby. Net-a-porter now carries Tom Ford bags, shoes, clothing and accessories. They always have great pics, including modeling pics and videos. Here is mod pic of the Jennifer satchel
