New to Pandora....HELP!

I would bet that Pandora would have a fit if they caught any shop/website sellling at the old prices. I, personally, like Pandora-beads.com as they ship promptly and are incredibly nice people to deal with. If I had to guess, however, I would say that perhaps dealers might have the option to sell merchandise that was purchased at lower prices for the lower price. I think charmqueen might know the answer to that one.

I do know that my local Pandora beads dealer raised his prices on everything March 17th, regardless of what he paid for it.

Yikes, I didn't know it was a nationwide thing!! I quickly ordered 3 starter bracelets at $40 each (for each of my three girls). Heck, it saved me $30!

I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOO loving my new bracelet and was really happy where I got it. http://www.pandora-beads.com Super fast shipping and nicely packed. Sorry for bashing them for the price increase, I had no idea it was direct thru Pandora and they didn't have a choice! I'll go back to them for more beads....I love their "make a bracelet" feature.

Yay! Congratulations on getting a Pandora bracelet. I only have five charms on mine and no clasps! It definitely moves around, but it's so pretty. I have two murano blue/turquoise beads, a silver purse, a silver dangly cross and the queen bee.
Does anyone notice if their queen bee crown pokes at your arm?
I am looking forward to getting more on my B-day in April:yes:

I never noticed that my Queen Bee did that. Her crown must have rounded off. My problem has been, since I got more beads, the bracelet got heavy and I would have to take it off and rest my wrist. I think the glass beads were the culprit- I had 6 of them on there. Now I am down to 2 glass beads, the bracelet feels better, but I miss the colored beads.

Pandora's corporate office sent a letter to all their stores in February that prices will increase on March 17. Some websites did not raise their prices on March 17 as instructed but should be changing them very soon (by March 24) or their account can be pulled from Pandora if they don't abide.

Pandora-beads.com sent out several emails to their customers indicating that a price increase would take place on March 17. There were examples showing old and new prices. Prices were changed on March 17.

Last week new customers price shopping might have noticed that prices were higher on Pandora-beads but that reflected the new pricing that started 3/17. Pandora-beads followed the corporate office's instructions.

Other websites were waiting for each other to change their prices and wouldn't change them until so and so changes it. Pandora-beads did not want to get into that game and followed the corporate's office instructions by changing prices as instructed on 3/17. Pandora-beads also told thousands on their mailing lists that prices will increase on 3/17. Customers appreciated the emails and bought lots of beads at old prices. To not raise the prices on 3/17 would ruin their credibility. Customers might think it would have been a ploy to buy from Pandora-beads if they came back to the website on 3/17 and saw old pricing. They did not want their credibility to be on the line even if that meant prices would be higher for a while.

Pandora-beads did as they were instructed but might have lost some business last week due to new on-line customers price shopping. They strive to provide fast service and good customer service.

Watch for new beads arriving in about a month. There are enamels, beads with stones, animals, and more.

There's also an interesting convertible earring by Pandora that is brand new. It is like an ear wire with charms that slide on. Very nice!

Geez I am in australia and the plain starter bracelets in SS for Pandora are $75, i know there is a difference with US/AUS conversion rate but that is just ridiculous!

Just wanted to let all pandora fans know about another website that stock bracelets and a different range of charms that will fit on pandora quite nicely www.lovelinks.com.au if you didn't already know about it! Im really not sure if they are only an aussie company or whether they post internationally. But they have a fantastic range of charms that are completely different to pandora.

The penguin will be available in late April or early May. There's also a monkey and bird. Price is $25.00. A lion with cz stones will available, too. He's more because of the stones. These along with Pandora's new releases are shown in their latest catalog that was just released.

Oh, I can't wait! I bought the Chamilia penguin for my daughter's Pandora. I just started my three teen girls with one for Easter and my youngest (15) love penguins. It fit fine, which I was thrilled about but we'll have to add the Pandora penguin when it comes out too.

Any other teasers you can tell us about? :okay:

The monkey is just too cute. It's actually a mother with a baby. I'm hoping to get that plus the Lion (with yellow CZs for eyes) for Mother's Day.

From what I can tell, there are no new clips (bummer, their selection was skimpy I thought) or spacers. The silver/gold new products aren't that exciting either. I was actually disappointed with what they chose to bring out. I guess that's just as well so I'm not so tempted!

I, personally, wonder how any of these companies are going to do (and thus affecting the resellers) considering this economy. Pandora now refuses to give out free products during their trunk sales, except for jewelry chests, cloths, t-shirts. That drew in a HUGE crowd at our local Pandora Gold retailer (they sell everything Pandora offers). And, Pandora does not allow their resellers to run any other kind of promotion. Jewelry stores are folding up all over the Midwest. I've seen two go under in my own town. I bought a bunch of Pandora recently to avoid the price increase, but I don't see my buying much for the rest of the year. And, forget the pure gold pieces. Not remotely in my budget. :crybaby:

Pat, how has business been over in the west coast? :confused1:

Other beads in the new catalog and customer brochure ... perfume bottle, dangle flip flop, trunk, fish bones on a ball bead, acorn, enamels in six colors, bouquet of flowers, shirt, dangle golf ball and several gold/silver combo beads. There's an all gold queen bee, dangle crown and a few more in gold.

California doesn't seem to have the Pandora frenzy like the East coast. On-line customers are primarily from the east coast and we're starting to see popularity in some southern states.

February and March have been busy months with purchases prior to the price increase. We'll see what happens now that new prices are in affect.

From what I hear, the craze has lessened substantially in Europe as well. I buy lampwork art glass beads from a eBay artist in Australia and she marks where she sells on a global map. There are no sales in Europe, just Australia, Great Britain and the US. I think these beads have been popular for so long over there (since the whole craze started in the Scandinavian region) that it's seen its days and now finally made it across the pond..

I saw pics of the new beads today...the enamel ones look so cute!! Can't wait to see them IRL!! Other than those I was somewhat underwhelmed. Plus the prices of the new ones are nuts. Good thing I'm almost done. But, DD's bracelet needs a lot still...

Prices haven't gone up in Canada yet but will be by April 1 from what I hear. Wonder why it was different date than US.

From what I hear Pandora is very strict with their retailers so I was very surprised to see that some stores didn't change their prices right away. Hope they didn't get busted...not worth the risk IMO.

The "Pandora clasp" bead clasp bracelets are in the AU$75 dollar range... but the lobster claw ones are more like $40-50. After having not such a pleasant experience with the lobster, I am so relieved that I upgraded to the bead clasp!
