I've cleaned mine by putting it in a lingerie bag and then machine washing on a gentle cycle. I use a delicates laundry wash. I then lay it out till mostly dry (just slightly damp) and the twist and leave to finish drying. Done this a few times.
I washed one years ago in cold water in my sink using a tad of Woolite for gentle wash and it bleed out onto the lighter colors in the stole-I would not ever wash one again but if there is an odor would place in a cloth laundry bag w a bounce or deodorizer cloth and tumble on fluff dry for 15 mins to remove any smell.
