Toddlers draw flowers like these, I'd expect more from VCA.....
I was quite shocked when I first saw it...
That’s what I was thinking! It reminds me of when I was a child and would draw the petals by doing circles because I didn’t understand how to draw a petal

I personally don’t like them, this actually looks like Kendra Scott jewelry. VCA is doing everything except bringing out a pink MOP line

It’s not for me. To me, it’s reminiscent of mid century modern jewelry design
which also seemed to focus on repetitive, geometric, retro, abstract forms.
But I’m sure it will resonate with someone. In fact, it may sell better since it’s a bit polarizing.
What looks childish or primitive to some, will be simple, abstract, and uncluttered to others.
Kind of like modern art. These pieces also look easy to manufacture. I am still surprised that
they are discontinuing Buton d’or.

ETA: when Cartier came out with JUC, people were equally skeptical if not outraged
Commercially, this line may have enough original design sensibility to give it
some IP protection, IDK. Unlike the alhambra clover.

ETA: this design may also appeal to those who don’t want a naturalistic, representational,
feminine design like frivole. But who already have a lot of Alhambra

Wonder if there was a consultant who opined that with this economy, demand may grow for simple, cheerful designs  No big bling. Something comfortable for everyday.

I think if the petals were more elongated and thinner ( maybe pear shaped or narrow ovals) it would look more elegant rather than childish
I had similar thoughts when I saw the design. It would be more elegant and interesting with longer, thinner petals and with some assymetry in the petals for a more flowing and naturalistic look. This is giving Roberto Coin “Daisy” line, where I think they should have gone more Pasquale Bruni “Petite Garden”, or even something closer to frivole would have been appreciated. It is like a less elegant, groovy Cosmos; it is cheerful, and I love colored stones, but I had much higher hopes when I heard it described compared to when I saw the design realized in these mock ups. Of course, VCA promo photos are notoriously bad, and almost every design looks much better in person, so it will be fun to see try ons. I would happily wear one as a gift, but it won’t bump anything off my personal wish list.

I was actually able to try 2 of the rings on in person. Here are some modeling shots for you all.

Personally, they were not my style, so I did not get either.
thank you for the pics. what's the blue stone surrounded by mother-of-pearl? blue agate?

I think I'm in the minority who likes it, although of course it will be very far down in my wishlist
