New Loulou from Neiman Marcus came damaged

Just received my first YSL bag, small loulou, from Neiman Marcus. I was so excited when I opened it. But this is what I found… scratches and big blob of glue on leather…. The price tag attached showed the old price ($2290).

I am already starting a return process with Neiman Marcus, but they said they cannot exchange it so I would have to order another one again. I am nervous if I will be receiving another bag with defects….

I just wanted to vent and also hope to hear from you all that receiving two defective bags should be quite rare. Or is this expected for YSL products in general??

Is that all glue? Because I got one from Saks and it had glue all over. I just rubbed and they all came off. And spanking new. So maybe its just glue. If its scratches try rubbing off as that leather is quite resistant. You got the old price so take time in returning. just my two cents
 
Good advice from @vastare to try to see if those scratches actually are glue or can be rubbed out. This reminds me of a weird experience I had several years ago. I called and ordered a Chanel SO Black Lambskin Jumbo from a Chanel Boutique, back in the days when that was possible. Whenl I opened the bag, there were cookie crumbs (probably Oreos) inside. I immediately phoned my SA, who was horrified. In addition to exchanging it for a truly fresh one, he sent a bottle of Chanel No. 5 as a "so sorry" gift. I hope this ends well for you, too.

Thanks. I am worried to scratch it too much to see if it comes off, but the one on the magnetic snap came off, so it might be. But it's everywhere and that big blob of glue by the chain is just too much, like why would it be there....?

Cookie crumbs in a brand new bag... :shocked: Wow....just wow....
I already returned the bag and ordered another one. Hopefully they will send me a clean one this time!

Ok, just got another one shipped to me. Am I just being too sensitive about this?? The new one I got is in even worse condition with the deep creasing in the flap and two long scratches (not glue and can’t buff it out) on the bottom. You are not being too picky. I would absolutely return both of these bags. I also recently ordered an YSL wallet from NM and sent it back because it has a scratch at the front. This might be more of NM issue, because I have ordered YSL items from other stores and have had no issues.

That’s terrible.

You are not being too picky. I would absolutely return both of these bags. I also recently ordered an YSL wallet from NM and sent it back because it has a scratch at the front. This might be more of NM issue, because I have ordered YSL items from other stores and have had no issues.
Agree. I’ve ordered several designer bags and one YSL (recently) from Bergdorf and they all came beautifully packaged in great condition.

NM wouldn't do exchange online (only in stores) and I live two hours away from the closest store.... So I placed ANOTHER order while I am returning this bag. It's ridiculous that I have three charges now on my credit card for the same purse. They said they put a note to send me one in a perfect condition, but who knows.... :(
Luckily, the price on NM was still pre-increase.
 
Order directly from YSL. Everything I have received from them has been brand new, pristine and packaged beautifully.
I ordered a clutch YSL online...it was defective...it had glue along the top flap and what seemed to be a hole (like a nail prick?) on the front I took it to the local boutique and they exchanged it for me. Anyway, that was my not pristine purchase from YSL online!

That really sucks :/ I also have 3 charges on my credit card for the same purse :sad: I ordered from Saks Fifth Avenue. I guess QC is really lacking. Hopefully the 3rd one you get is perfect!!

Wow, you, too? I am supposed to be getting my third one today, so we'll see.
Did you finally get one that is in an acceptable condition?
