Hello everyone, I haven't posted in awhile as we moved and I have been just over my head with stuff to do. Things have calmed down a bit and I am wanting to buy a new bag - the Hamilton in luggage. I had lunch with a friend yesterday and she had this bag - hers was very slouched (she has had it for a couple of years) and I just loved it! So I just called our MK store to see if they were going to have a sale soon. I hate to buy something and then shortly afterwards it's on sale! The SA told me no sales were planned but he also told me that the older Hamiltons were tumbled leather and that all of the new Hamiltons are Saffiano pressed leather. I don't know if I should be disappointed or not! If I bought one now would mine ever look like my friend's? What do you all think of the new leather? Was I given the correct information?

These answers are all probably here somewhere but as I have not been on this website and out of the loop for quite sometime I am clueless as to what is going on with MK - and I am wanting to go and buy the Hamilton today or tomorrow! I value your opinions and help!! Thank you!!
Hey, isn't there a new leather hamilton?

That's what I thought. Is the new leather of good quality? Does anyone know? Also, the new hamilton kinda looks like a selma with different hardware imo.
I don't own a Hamilton Traveler and haven't really seen one in person. I assume the leather is of good quality because MK's soft leather bags are really nice. The Hamilton Traveler is definitely a cross between the shape of the Selma, the belt/lock hardware of the Hamilton, and the soft leather of the Sophie.

Now, why do some of them have the gold plate behind the lock and some don't? The one with the gold plate only comes in two colors (or at least that's what is showing on Michael Kors' website) and the other one has the gold covered by the leather strap. I'm so confused...

They just unlocked the padlock and switched the straps front to back. Some people do that with the hamiltons to keep the plate from getting scratched.

But then will the straps still keep the hamilton smaller if the gold plate is in front? And then how do the two straps stay in place like perfectly overlapped on top of one another???

I just want to make sure that I have all the info I need before I buy a new Hamilton.

It doesn't matter which side of the belt is on top. The bag still locks the same way, either way. The lock keeps the ends of the belt secured to the bag. As long as both ends of the belt are attached to the hook before the lock, it will be secure. :smile1:
