As an aside, I remember when Radhika Merchant Ambani appeared with a jewelry-line Kelly and I was convinced she didn't buy it but it was a brand collab for publicity. When I learned this Hermes store opened at Jio Plaza (Ambani's), and per the int'l MNC agreements had to be co-owned/run by an Indian co that also happened to be with Relianice (also the Ambani's) I was like, "I KNEW IT!" To be fair, it's a really smart business move for both parties. Int'l companies need all the stealth branding and cross-collabs here as possible; Even ones that notoriously claim they don't need such marketing, like Hermes.

My Hermes conspiracy theory is that the Neige Fabourg B is identical to the one carried here. While I couldn't get a clear enough photo for the skin pattern, the curved left corner corner indicates it is. That's my daily detective work.

If true and she actually owns the piece, then 1) that bag will never actually be given to a customer. If she doesn't own it, then 2) Hermes loaned this piece for publicity/brand recognition. If the latter, I also hold the company accountable for the subsequent media coverage. It is the company or their brand reps tipping off newspapers to report this, since journalists here wouldn't know a Birkin if it hit them upside the head. The price of one is at least 3-4 years' worth of wages, and there are so few of them in the wild. So, it's just gross that the publicity around Hermes in this country is, "This bag costs x lacs!" Nothing about the craftsmanship or quality. I like wearing H here because it's still IYKYK. I like seeing H in India... but not like this. Extremely off-putting.

And oh look, same with the picnic Kelly. At some point I'm wondering, is this an Hermes store with genuine products that will be given out to "deserving customers" or an Ambani closet tour? 🙄
