Well I have no purchase history before and got offered a flag Birkin in size 35 but I decline it because it's made of part canvas part leather. But I think 2 weeks is a long time so maybe there'll be new shipment during your stay. The best of luck for you :)

I had been offered flag birkin with no purchase history in mumbai store too but turned it down. The inventory is over all pretty good in Mumbai store for non b and k (lots of lindys/picotin/ garden party/evelyne/wallets etc)

I just visited the Delhi boutique last month several times and it was a fabulous experience, of course I confess I scored BIG so I might be slightly biased.

did you have to buy things before you got offered the bag or did you go in and ask? congrats, that bag is amazing!
I did buy an exotic CDC in violet GHW my first visit, but I think it had more to do with the relationship that formed and my enthusiasm for the brand :)
Thanks, I'm on cloud nine with my new pink treasure!

Wow! Did you score the B25 as a walk-in? Now I'm looking forward to H in India!

Your B25 is idf!!

New Delhi and Mumbai both have an Hermès store each.

Mumbai has a large inventory with almost everything available. Birkins and Kellys have a waitlist but it is much more manageable than most other places and wait times aren't as long.

New Delhi has a temporary store at the DLF Emporio mall and will soon have a new store around September-October at the DLF Chanakya mall in Lutyens Delhi. Currently stock at the Emporio mall store is very limited as it is a temporary store and their waitlist for Birkins and Kellys is currently shut and will open only once the new store opens.

Any other specific inquiries, do let me know. I'd be happy to answer you questions.

PS: If the mod can merge this thread with the India thread it would be great to have a single India thread that covers both locations for H in India.

Hello, I have been lurking this website for years and finally decided to share my recent experience in Delhi india as we vacationed there for the past three weeks. There is a new Hermes store in Chanakya mall which recently opened. I have been to the previous location in Delhi for the past few years and was told on those visits that I am not qualified to purchase B/K/C as I do not live there even though I made several purchases of scarves, perfumes and other items. Imagine my surprise when I walked into the new store and on display was a Constance 24cm shiny Noir Mississippi Alligator with rose gold hardware. Not only was it on display but it was available to purchase even though I was a walk in and not an Indian native. Shocked, I kept questioning the sale associate as to why and how is this possible. I was told that the store recently opened in October, exactly 40 days ago and this particular store was sent four Constances and they were allowed to put them on display for a period of time which was coming to an end the following day. They only had one Constance left in their inventory and there it was staring me in the face on display. Started hyperventilating and asking what would happen the next day after it was taken down. I was told that they would begin to make calls and offer it to clients with a history with their store and living in India. Immediately called my husband and sh the information to him and asked him what should I do as I was not prepared to make such a purchase.
I asked the sale associate if he could hold the bag until the next day to allow me time to think this through.
Question???? What would you do???

I'll share my recent experience in Delhi at Chanakya Mall if it helps anyone else. To note, it's a significantly smaller store than Mumbai, but I chose Delhi since I wanted to B hunt, and even if the inventory was better, I didn't want to be shopping in Mumbai during its annual Lakme fashion week.

First, prices are about 10% higher than in the US, but this is actually less than it was since India streamlined its tax structure and reduced luxury goods from 28% tax slab to 15%. On some of the pricetags you can literally see a reduction since the switch.

Inventory: Lots of good stuff, esp for bag lovers. I saw everything except B/K/Cs, including bolides, Evelyns, toolboxes, Lindys, etc. The colors were classy and generally neutral. I also saw a gorgeous Kelly wallet in gold, as well as a Bearn in ostrich--couldn't pinpoint the yellow/beige hue on it but it was stunning. I was a little disappointed in shoes since the stock there was kinda meh. I was looking for either jumping boots or the neo kelly boots, but had to "settle" for the power low boots. Makes sense that stock in August for these would be limited, though. Twilly selection was great, scarves were okay, and home goods were also on the limited side (probably because this section--along with dishware and fine porcelain--is one of the least popular selling items in India).

The big "can I get a B/K/C" question: I live in a different state in India with no H store, so I technically qualify as a resident. My husband is Indian and I'm white, and we both went shopping together on a Tuesday early afternoon. Based on what others said I don't know if foreigners/non-residents can get one unless they drop serious money in one sitting. That said... we dropped about 4.5k (USD) on several different things from several depts. Maybe that's not much in the H world, but I thought it'd at least get my foot in the door. Yet, when expressing my interest in getting a Birkin (only post-checkout of course), they didn't so much ask what kind I was looking for. I would've even welcomed something like, "how long are you in town for? Come back and see us later" (ie, just shop more and we'll talk). Instead... uncomfortable silence on the matter. And I mean, NO reception. This was despite great rapport otherwise. Though the SAs are absolutely lovely and not at all snobby, on the topic of the B I got the distinct impression that they wanted me to ask about anything BUT that. It was like doing really well in a job interview but coming away from it getting the impression that the position was filled already and there wasn't anything you could do to change it. On the way out I asked, "uh, is there a waitlist, do I need to sign any form, or...?" I got a, "well, we have your info so we'll call you if anything comes up." It's only been 2 days since my visit but I came away thinking it might as well be two years and I think I'd still be waiting. I'll of course update if I get an offer and the amount of time it took, but that may be a while! In the meantime I'll enjoy my lovely purchases.
