I dunno girls. Most people think outlets are "cheap" but they aren't! We've gotten some great deals from Macy's and MK. I don't know if they're going out.. Not yet anyways. Everyone goes for their siggy bags and I on the other hand look for something different. MK offers a lot of variety and a lot of celebrities wear his clothes and go to his fashion runway. The one that just happened was filled with celebs. Dunno, I think his brand is doing well and still going strong.

I just wanted to pop in to say I think you MK ladies are handling this thread really nicely! I know none of us are Michael Kors (well maybe he's here, that would be cool!), but it can definitely hurt feelings when an article is posted in a section that people love about how the bags aren't 'cool anymore'.

I love this forum because so many people have so many different likes and wants!

Thanks Meg! I agree, our ladies here are so graceful. It can be hard sometimes! lol! You can be sure none of us will be making posts like this in other designer threads, NOT cool, at all!

:tpfrox:

Meh, news articles aren't really a big deal. I believe a bag doesn't define a person. We all have our preferences and I don't judge anyone's happiness, whether it's a $10 purse from Claires or a $10,000 bag from Italy... Unless it's a counterfeit! I will judge you there!!! 😁

I will ESPECIALLY judge you if you say that it's a fake and "don't care".

Couldn't agree more! At least our Michael Kors bags are genuine and beautiful! What impresses me so well here on our MK forum, is that I don't see ANY of us carrying the signature bags. Almost every bag I see here is in saffiano or regular leather. We are truly in love with the designs and not worried about having a signature scribbled all over ourselves to advertise that we are carrying a designer bag.

I see a lot of that with other designs here on other designer forums. I love our MK forum and all the classy ladies here. And just like Meg, I am proud of you too, for how well we handled this post. I have been biting my tongue, trust me! And you all know I don't hold back much! lol! But my tongue really HURTS right now! lol! Thanks for being such a good infuence on me, but yes, don't come around here bragging about your fake! lol! We will ALL get kicked off!

But I hope we stop commenting on this. I just want it to go away and get lost in the pages. It simply isn't true! I will admit I have been worried about this for some time now, because I sell MK on ebay. I used to sell Coach bags and did very well up until last year. I found NO ONE was bidding on my Coach bags and I had to stop doing auctions because I was giving them away.

Then I discovered MK was the new hot item and I couldn't keep them in stock! I was shipping one out every day! It is STILL that way as we speak but I have been worried how long it will last, because when you sell designer bags you have to keep up with the trends or you won't make any money, What I noticed about this article is that it does not state who is out doing MK?? So it has to be nonsense and as a long time seller of designer bags, I can tell you, MK is still HOT!

I don't really like the MK monogram. To me it's not particularly pretty. But I LOVE his saffiano leather. It can take a wonderful beating, lol. And I have one of his lambskin bags that is soooooo soft and cushy. I think both of those leathers are a good value for the price.

I just love having a place where I can share my "love" for handbags. These women get me, the women in my family don't. Purses to them are just a necessary something to hold your wallet and keys. For me handbags are much more and joining this forum let me know I'm not weird for loving handbags. We share much more than bags at times like advice, tips etc.. The Purse Forum is wonderful!!:smile1:

+1! My thoughts exactly!

this kinda makes me sad too, although i have been seeing little dribs and drabs about this over the last year or so.
maybe this is just more so for the US as here in australia we have one store in sydney (dont know about anywhere else) and only David Jones carries some of the collection and even then only the major ones (like Sydney city) carries them. there is one outlet type in Sydney as well.

it annoys me when i see fake MKs as well - they are cheapening the name, especially when the bags aren't that expensive for a designer!

i also think because its become more mainstream people are getting "over it" and cheapening it?

however when i was in the US 2 1/2 years ago before MK really took off in australia i must say all the outlets i went to (and as an aussie that was a lot) i didnt like any of the bags and wondered what all the fuss was about. i went into 2 proper stores - didnt really like any in one but then in another on my last day in the US i bought 2 bags that i love ....although admittedly i only really use one of them.

i think the styles have gotten a lot better since then as i see so many things i want and love now. so it can only keep getting better right????? (unless back then i was just too close minded and hadnt been opened up to the world of buying everything and anything...)

i do not like coach bags at all, i dont like any of the styles especially cause almost all of them have that ugly coach print on them (no offence) and they are more expensive.

kate spade has nice stuff but she is more expensive for almost similar designs and quality.

yeah so i think i went off topic....

I think this is plain old nonsense. MK took the #1 spot in most searched for brand in 2014... That's last year! In 2013 he was #2! LV climbed up from #10 in 2013 to #2 last year! I mean c'mon! We're barely in April, and I bet you my searches have been in the hundreds, lol! This is all silly gossip intended to point out a non existing problem. I guarantee that MK will at the top for many more years to come. Especially at the rate I'm shopping at, lol. Enjoy your purses and have a fabulous weekend!

Agree 100000%
One article is just meant to stir up some drama haha, plain journalism. The media only gets attention if we pay attention to it, so I say we continue to do our thing and MK will continue to do his!

Btw melbo LOVE the new profile pic - you look great!

This surprises me actually, that the stock is underperforming. My MK store is always jammed packed. The customers are not browsing they are buying. Belk Dept store just expanded their MK dept TWICE in the past year.

With Coach I think people did not want to pay full price because the full price styles went to the outlet in a couple months. But from what I understand, the bags at MK outlet are Made for Factory bags, not full price deletes. With MK I usually wait for Dept store sales but I also don't mind paying full price for a bag I think will sell out and it usually does
