Ilovetokidoki - if I had known how hard to find the duckies were going to be I would've bought a ton more when they first came out and then resold them on eBay. Someone sold one a little while back for $400!

Have any of you guys seen/purchased the Jay Strongwater charms? I think they're really cute, but at $100 a pop I'm not looking for a reason to love them, lol.

Yeah, I did! I remember going back and forth, wondering if I should just buy it or not. Man, now I'm totally kicking myself for not getting it!

The peppermint is my fave by far...it's the only one I made an effort to hunt down on ebay

Ahhh, you have the pegasus! I remember seeing that one in Bloomie's but never bought it.

I love that peppermint too, I'm glad my full bracelet came with it a couple of years ago, I couldn't afford to get one now. :p

I'm so shocked at how high these retired charms are going for! BTW, is the clasp on your peppermint smaller than the singular charms? I noticed mine is smaller than all my others and I've just always assumed it was because it came from the set.

Cedes, $400 for the duckie?! I remember I almost got them in both colors at Nordstrom or somewhere, but my mom said they were UGLY, so I put them back :push:

Oh I know, there are still a few I'd like but I SO can't afford them. Geesh, I could buy more LV!
Anyway the clasp on mine is regularly sized (this was when they were still using full sized everything on their full bracelets); yours is probably because of the set thing like you said though.

Hehe I always wanted the blue duck too...I have the pink one, the face is so cute. :p

I really want a duckie one! I wish I'd getten into JC when they came out! I sold one about 6 months back that I got for $25 from the outlet...it sold for $60...I was floored! And if I'd waited, it sells for more than that now!

Yeah, it's crazy how much some people are willing to pay for the older ones. I got the pink elephant on a crystal egg right when I first started collecting them and they NEVER show up on eBay.. one finally did and it went for $800 :x

I thought about selling it after that, but it's so cute and I like having some of the really rare ones. :)

gapaholic - just explain to him that it's a fairly sound investment, as they rarely decrease in value over time. :D

Those Jay Strongwater charms are so cute - they had some really cute reptiles!!! I just can't get into those too - the Juicy ones are going to have to be enough : ))))

Yeah I've NEVER seen that charm in person, I love it! My oldest charms are the ones on the full bracelets, not totally rare ones (mine are like the shamrock, crystal peppermint, etc.).
I know a couple, like that money cage one and the globe were ones I never saw in person either. They show up on ebay every so often but not too frequently.

I know, I really love the fish charm that looks like a koi. But $98+ for something that's all enamel and fake stones seems ridiculous to me. :/

Lvbabydoll - Mine are the same way. My other htf ones (pave pineapple, mint tin) are on a bracelet, no boxes. :(

The globe is really cute, I think it has a tiny pink airplane on it and spins around. I guess Juicy made a lot less of each charm when they first started producing them than they do now.

my updated collection:

so the cupcakes open up... doesnt make any sense to me, but it is soo adorable!
The lobster tail is like hinged so you can sway it back and forth...
the knobs on the camera twists and turns <3

i only have 1 more coming in the mail.. for now.

btw, i set up a reference thread for juicy charms in the jewelry reference forum. It has pics and prices.
