Neverfull GM: Monogram or Ebene?

I use my NF MM's as a daily bag but started craving a GM. I bought a Mono GM recently off ebay and it's amazing! It's a perfect travel bag or if you carry a lot on a daily basis. I cinched the sides when I was on the Metro so no one could steal anything. I prefer Mono - it's true about the straps. When I first got my DE NF in the MM size years ago, I almost wanted to return it! I carried it while wearing a sleeveless top and the straps dug into my shoulder so bad. Eventually they softened up but not as soft as vachetta. I think if you plan to carry heavy things - especially a laptop, I'd go with Mono. It IS painful when you get your first watermarks or stains but eventually they all blend in once it patinas. You can always go the pre-loved route if you're uncertain about the pattern. I paid $600 for my GM- old style without the pouch.

Ooo...Mono is at 7 now :)
Thank you for your response and insight!! I have been looking at preloved too! All good advice!

Not a DE fan, so my vote goes to Mono. I let my Mono GM (I also have a DA MM) get a little sun and then left it alone. It looks great. I had a negative experience treating the leather on my MM, so I don't recommend it. LV doesn't recommend it. Had I paid attention to the latter point, I wouldn't have experienced the former!

What exactly happened when you treated the leather? I hear so many positive stories about treating, then a few negative experiences like yours, so I'm torn!

have both definitely prefer mono. the straps on the mono are much more comfortable. they soften as opposed to the de that can really dig into your shoulder. i have used them both a lot but really notice the difference in comfort. i also really prefer the look of mono anyway and love the mellow patina the vachetta gets. i also own the azur but really don't use it enough. not sure why.

Thank you everyone for your replies!! You are all phenomenal!!

I think its a matter of going into the store and actually testing the bags out. So far what I have seen are videos and pictures. Who knows I may completely fall in love with the Azure and its not even on my radar.

Yes, I think it's a good idea to go into the store and try on bags! It's tough because really I don't think you can go wrong with any print. Each one is lovely in their own way. I love my DE bags but get into Monogram moods too! I don't own any of the DA print. It's pretty but I'm afraid it will look dirty after awhile. Agree with @Pagan, it would be fun to do the GM in the Mon monogram print. I've played around with that on the website a few times.

I have the GM in Mono and DE. Love them both. I purchased the mono preloved in 2016 in excellent condition from a private owner because I wanted the older model with the pretty interior, and have carried it frequently, been caught in the rain a few times, and no water spots. I spray the vachetta on all my LV Mono bags with AppleGuard and it works for me, and seems to delay the patina process, which I like. I’ve cinched it several times with no problems. My DE is my favorite travel tote, work tote and everyday tote, which I purchased over a year ago preloved from Fashionphile in like new condition. I’ve worn it cinched, and applied Cadillac Conditioner to the trim several times without any problems such as cracking or wrinkles. I use a zip organizer in both, so I don’t worry about things inside getting wet when it rains. I also purchased strap covers for both, and both bags are quite comfortable on my shoulder. Will post a pic of both.

Exactly where I’m at right now. I have all 3 prints in the mm size and craving a mon mono gm. Trying to decide on color Violet/Bleu Clair or Bordeaux/Ivory or Mustard. The struggle is real lol...
I got the Bordeaux/Ivoire in the MM size and love it. I really only like the Mono print with a colour; not sure why. I have a Mono/Pink NeoNoe for the same reason.

If I ever go for a GM I will do Fuchsia with either Ivory or Orange.

This is my exact problem right now. I want a neverfull GM but can’t decide which print. All my LV (which is about 15 pieces including wallets) are the mono print I don’t own a DE yet. So I’m leaning towards that one. But so worried about cracking, peeling and everything else that is talked about with this bag. I love a classic LV bag but also looking for a bag that isn’t so loud with print. All my bags LV, Gucci and fendi are all the logo print. So the DE would be a nice change. But than I go back the mono haha

I've never seen the handle covers. Where did you get those?
