I have an Adrienne Vittadini black denim travel tote and a Samsonite nylon computer bag. I love both, especially the AV as it has loads of pockets and it's very comfortable to carry. Boss Taylor tote can also easily fit a laptop in the open side compartments.
If budget wasn't an object I would already have bought a Tumi Ella tote or something by Tuscany Leather.

Many affordable brands have laptop sleeves/built in. Haven't really seen this with higher end bags. I guess higher end bags are not meant to carry laptops around as the laptop would ruin them over time? I think the Prada Nylon ones would be durable in this case no?

Some more affordable bags that come with built in laptop compartments

Beins work tote and Beis mini work tote
Dagne Dover Allyn and other Dagne bags
Sons & Lo
Tory Burch PErry tote and Robinson have a laptop compartment as well
Senreve Maestra, the priciest one in the bunch

Boss has really nice business bags. I have a Taylor tote with 3 compartments, but there are f.e. double zip styles etc. I used my Taylor for a year straight and it has no wear, basically.
Tumi is another brand that I would totally trust with longevity.

My usual work bag is this SJP coverntible bag (in a different color). It can take a lot of abuse.

13 Inch Macbook fits with space to spare in Deadly Ponies Mr Porter totes. I've tried Longchamp bags in the past but I find the straps too thin for comfortable lugging around, whereas I've had easily cost-per-wear from my Mr Porter. There is a tiny split in the piping near one of the straps, but I think this is my tendency to hang it (laptop, lunch, water and all) off one strap whilst fishing for my purse.

Empreinte or canvas? From pics I've seen, Macbook Air doesn't seem to fit into the canvas Onthegomm unless its diagonal and it distorts the bag a bit.
I have the canvas. If you put your laptop the way I do in the photos then the sides won’t stick out. I also normally have folders/files in the bag which may cause the middle to bulge out a bit but I’m ok with that.

I am currently using my Stella McCartney logo tote which can hold my laptop or iPad and lots of other stuff for work. I would also say that Madewell tote bags hold lots of stuff if you plan to carry extra papers & binders etc.

Currently I am eyeing on the Saint Laurent totes and would appreciate some insights as to whether it can be a workhorse too!

For Commuting, I love the Chanel Medium Deauville (New Medium Size with the handles), as well as the Gucci Sakai Calfskin Lux Tote in Cherry Red and Chloe Woody Tote Medium. All of these are awesome for traveling with an apple macbook 13 inch and an ipad 10 inch along with personal items, wallet and keys. Even a tumbler. I'm looking into the YSL Jamie XL/4.3 messenger as another option for commuting.

If anyone has anyone experiences with having to carry a laptop around in a bag all day, what bag do you recommend?

LV fans, Do you prefer the Neveful MM or GM or even the OnTheGo bag or no Neverful at all (some people claim that carrying a laptop in their neverful hurts their shoulders since it drags it down/applies a lot of pressure)?

And does anyone know if a 13-inch MacBook Air can fit inside a Chanel Grand Shopping Tote (GST)?

Thanks and happy new years ladies (& gents).

I am always going to recommend a Massaccesi Divina for this question.

Any bag you own or like that it will fit in would be my answer (basically any tote or even large hobo). Usually alternate between m LV neverfull or on the go GM (when traveling, I have added a wider shoulder strap which helps with the weight), YSL icare which is large but much less structured, or Chanel deauville tote. I don't own one, but imagin the Dior book tote would be great too!
