I am happy with the color, just not the quality. And yeah, I know. But if I get tired of them, I can just consign later. Also rumor has it that Chanel will be only "offering" jumbos and maybe all classics going forward (like H does for B,K, &C) as to not avail to the general public for purchase outright. I've been waiting for decent colors so for me, perhaps, this trumps the quality for now. Jumbos are just so easy to carry and hold what I need. However, the 19C chevron shiny caviar jumbos are the best I've seen. Literally, beyond amazing.
i've seen your informative video on the iridescent blue. Thanks for saving me not wanting the iridescent beige any longer. i like structurized bag. i could see the leather would not hold well after a while. i still have some wishlist colours for the classic flap that i haven't got. if they want to do it the H way, definitely they need to up their quality games. H's quality is still up there, one of very few branded bags that could really stand abuse.

As it is in Asia.. the Classic Flaps are coming in very very small numbers. Initially at pre launch, It was only reserved for the VIPs or those with good relationship with SM / SA etc..
- this is in reference to the recent 19s collection.
It's a different ball game from now on.. it seems.
once, i was told straight on my face by a junior SA on my local boutique that they reserve the bag that i'm looking for the VIPs first . in other words , i'd get the leftover after the VIPs. it's just one hell of a way telling your potential customer that. not to mention, i previously managed to score the coveted 11.12 bag without being a VIP. i got a very good Dior SA who always invite me to pre-launch but somehow the Chanel's ones are very snobbish and not able to find one willing to look further of the bag I want. i'm still not sure though that currently there's limitation of access to the classic flap in Asia. it's just about finding the right SA imho

Ok. Comparison photos you guys. 19s iridescent vs 19c.

That's exactly what I saw in store on almost all the 19S season bags. Not just limited to CF/iridescent coloured bags. I couldn't imagine the "paper thin" (borrowing your quote, couldn't think of another better description) quality in the new bags. And the weight are lighter. I asked the SA (my usual SA was on leave) and was told that 'Chanel listened to the customers' feedback for smaller/light weight bags....so.......' But in my mind, :hrmm: "yea, but looks more like downhill quality to me".

I was in Chanel boutique last weekend, and noticed that the 19s iridescent CF bag has a much lower quality material although the colors look pretty. I compared it against my small CF 19c that I just bought it in London. Thank God!! Per Chanel SA, small CF won’t be offered in US. Also, going forward US boutiques only carry black, beige, and red only for CF. Don’t know if it’s true? I feel like Chanel boutiques in Europe & Asia have more varieties than in the US.

I picked up an iridescent blue coin purse XL the other day and it’s very well made; however, when I was looking at other SLGs in the same colour, I noticed a bit of distortion in the quilting which may support the idea that the leather is thinner.

Wow!! Reading this thread is starting to make me happy that I purchased my pink flap from 19C. After looking at the beautiful color of the pink iridescent 19S, I was starting to regret my purchase from cruise.

I was looking at an irridescent beige colored bag a few weeks ago as it caught my eye. I asked how these bags hold up and if it they fade, discolor over time.

The answer was "yes" and there is nothing you can do about it. If you plan to use the bag on a regular basis
it might be best to rethink your decision while you have time and instead choose a solid classic color instead.

If not, it sure is lovely and enjoy!

I am a sucker for anything metallic or iridescent. Unfortunately, once there is a rub mark or any other issues, they can’t be repaired or touched up with dye or leather conditioner. I learned my lesson with all my metallics and irridescents.
But I will admire everyone’s purchases!

The iridescent series have been one of my favorite!!! The colors are prettiest n so unique! Talking bout leather structure and thickness, 19S is indeed thinner. 19C Chevron or Classic Black have bigger grains and more structured than ANY years... I love these!!! But NOT 19C Quilts, 18B, 18C, and even the elusive 17B Quilted red n grey were kinda “loose”. 18S was amazing and so was 17B Chevron. It really comes down to preference. But Chanel is just playing around with various materials. And it takes years/decades/never for them to create our dream combos . So I’m just extra happy they finally made a whole line of iridescence!

To those still in a dilemma... if you love shimmery iridescence... definitely get it! I don’t think Chanel will repeat this unique series til ever

I received mine yesterday from a reseller and it is supposed to be brand new. The bag has visible wrinkles on the back and really bad wrinkles when the flap is open. Is everyone’s woc like this?
