Hi Ladies, I need some opinions please...

I got my classic iridescent flap in medium size last weekend. It was brand new and still wrapped in paper when I got it. However, I realized the lining of the inside of the bag was different. It's too soft and not straight/ flat.. it's just feels different compare to my other classic flap. My SA said maybe it's the leather and finish, he checked 2 other one in store and it's the same..

I will include some pictures..Is that normal? Should I keep it? Exchange it? Return it? What do you guys think? I want to get one more flap in other color as well, but I'm afraid it will have the same issue..

Thank you!!

I do see some of them not being straight, but never seen them not flat on the bottom. I work for Chanel.
Sometimes when they process the leather during dye or embossing is change the leather’s texture. Or it is that particular batch of leather have little issue. It is totally up to you if you want to see if her can check on other location’s stock if they are doing the same thing. If that buys you a peace of mind.
My jumbo buttom is similar. Its the inner layer and from outside it’s hard. It sits up too ... my SA said it comes almost inall bags. I looked 3 jumbos prior picking mine straight from boxes and each one had imperfections specially outside that u could see. If your bag stands and does not fall down then u are ok... it’s common.,

This season's iridescent is the lowest quality caviar leather I've ever seen, and I've seen all of 'em. I loved the color, so I got it anyway (the blue and the green jumbos) but the leather is paper thin. PAPER THIN. My rose gold jumbo from a couple of years ago is thicker and sturdier and more supple and durable than this six ways to Sunday. You can see the difference in thickness in the pic below. The back wall of the interior flap is so thin that my phone doesn't even slide in like it usually does when there are contents in the cavity because the leather is so paper thin. I posted a video of it on my IG it was so bad. Regardless, the color is beautiful. But yes, there are quality issues for certain.

That's a lot of money to pay for two jumbos that you aren't happy with!

I am happy with the color, just not the quality. And yeah, I know. But if I get tired of them, I can just consign later. Also rumor has it that Chanel will be only "offering" jumbos and maybe all classics going forward (like H does for B,K, &C) as to not avail to the general public for purchase outright. I've been waiting for decent colors so for me, perhaps, this trumps the quality for now. Jumbos are just so easy to carry and hold what I need. However, the 19C chevron shiny caviar jumbos are the best I've seen. Literally, beyond amazing.

I think I will keep the bag, it's just with this price point, I thought the quality would be little bit better...:hrmm:

Iridescent leather is special treated leather, unlike the other usual coloured leather. The colour may change after some time and I noticed they are indeed more uneven looking, especially the the sides/edges. My SA didn't recommend me getting iridescent although they do look very charming

That's what my SA told me, maybe it the finish. But the color is really pretty!! I just can't resist!!

Yah I compared to my so black classic flap, the 19s iridescent flap feels so thin and too soft, specially the inside leather lining... but I decided to keep the bag, maybe the quality is not as great as before.

I'm still thinking if I should get the pink one..

Just wondering where or whom you've heard this rumor from? :confused1: If it holds true, thank goodness I've bought all the CFs I wanted in all my favorite colors. Obviously there are maybe a few colors I'd like to add, but I'm pretty satisfied with the colors I currently have. The iridescent colors this season are absolutely stunning and I bought the pink and beige CF. I've yet to use them due to rainy weather, so I can't attest to the quality :-s I usually use my CFs like even regular caviar only for going out/special occasions, so hopefully over time the bag will remain in good shape despite thinner and less sturdy leather . :hrmm:

Some of the 19s iridescent pieces are grained lambskin caviar and others are grained calfskin caviar. I noticed the grained lambskin pieces are much thinner. Some of the blue iridescent pieces are grained lamb, for example. (Not sure about the CF) I purchased a caviar wallet and realized it was lamb after the fact. It’s still beautiful though - just a lot thinner & not as durable.

I think we have similar taste in bags. I love the iridescent blue. I saw it in store and pictures don’t do it justice. Also, if Chanel wants to implement the scarcity model for CFs, that will probably help the brand.

I agree. I think it's a good idea so salvage or reinstate some sense of exclusivity. Clearly it's working for H.

As it is in Asia.. the Classic Flaps are coming in very very small numbers. Initially at pre launch, It was only reserved for the VIPs or those with good relationship with SM / SA etc..
- this is in reference to the recent 19s collection.
It's a different ball game from now on.. it seems.
