The Omega you selected is a beautiful watch, as is the Cartier. Both classics, you'd be fine with either one!

Omega or Cartier would both be great choices. My stepmother has the mini constellation with diamonds around the bezel. It's a beautiful watch. She wears it as an everyday watch, and it never looks like "too much", even with a casual outfit.

Just wanted to post an update. We just came back from our trip today, and went to our jeweler in St Thomas earlier in the week. My mom had prepurchased the omega mini constellation with diamonds earlier, but when I got to the store I fell in love with an ebel beluga tonneau with diamonds. http://www.thetimezone.com/Ebel/1215450.html
I believe that this is a photo of the watch. Initially, I was torn between this and the bedat, but absolutely love this. I was a little iffy on the shinier band (I thought I wanted matte or two tone) but it looks beautiful on and is very sparkly! Just wanted to let you guys know...and thank you for all of your help! My mom ended up picking out a bigger omega constellation for herself, with diamonds and the gold face. It looks lovely on her but I wanted a little more sparkle. Also, my BF picked out a new pair of David Yurman cookie earrings (with the pearls, to match my bracelet) for a little birthday gift for me. Happy belated new year to everyone!
