It’s very pretty. However, in urban America ie. NY, CA, GA and many others, nameplates was common, especially during the 80’s/90’s. I’m sure the writers of “Sex in the city” referred to NY culture when creating this necklace.

I am usually a classic girl when it comes to jewelry. Think Cartier and tennis bracelet. I would love a nameplate necklace. The inspiration comes from Carrie Bradshaw's nameplate necklace. I feel it can still be timeless with some flair and have sentimental meaning. I am not so sure whether I want it to be diamond studded though.

Yes I believe you are correct! I never watched that show, I only saw girls at my school and in my social circles in NJ wearing them and I am so glad I have one now The one I got looks exactly like the ones I remember them wearing.
