My tiny collection - going minimalist for 2016 :)

Thanks so much, everyone! I have a Crossbody that I'm getting rid of, but I have her one last shot today - vachetta Willis: it's just too small for me! So the quest will continue :) I bought an awesome wall hook to display my purses today... And my three key fobs, haha! Crab, reindeer, and bunny with heart glasses. This makes me so happy I can't describe it -my big collection that used to be stuffed in a closet is now just ones I adore and hanging in my bedroom for me to admire like a work of art anytime I want to! Looks very nice! and is a good idea for storage. I need to get a hook for my currently used bag.

Agreed - it's all about balance. The book I read recommended going through every item in your house and taking the time to hold it - if it brings you joy, keep it, otherwise it goes. So if those 12 bags all bring you joy, you're doing great! :)
I guess all my bags need to go. The only things that bring me joy is God, life, my family, that we have good health and that I have a good job.

I think this is great! I am definitely a minimalist, and am always going through stuff and donating :-) As for bags, I have closer to 12, but I like to switch them out close to weekly so it makes me feel like I am shopping in my own closet. I have definitely over time gotten rid of those that I didn't end up caring for as much--like you I sell or give to friends/family.

I am hoping I finally got smart and only buy the bags I love, to avoid the buying and selling/donating cycle.

Love this post and I really like your choices! I read the Marie Kondo book and did a huge overhaul of my whole house and it has changed my perspective on buying. I have more than 4 bags but I've scaled down to what I truly love and it has actually made it easier to not buy anything because it now has to 'spark joy' to be worth the money and the overall energy of owning something else. I was surprised at how much energy extra stuff takes!

I think you have your bases covered with your choices. Very nice options, and I love the RK boxer.

Are you still doing the Project 333 program? I considered that but once I kondo'ed my closet and wardrobe, I feel like I scaled down so much that it had a similar result. Much less owned but loving more of what is left.

I'm not doing the 333 program exactly as the creator intended... I own 36 hangers and have taped colored origami paper to the tops - green for casual, blue for seasonal (winter or summer, I live in Massachusetts), and purple for dressy. I have limited myself to that many articles of clothing, not counting leggings (stored above) and camis, underwear, and socks (stored below). If I wear something, when it comes out of the wash it goes to the back of the closet. Then once I start seeing things come forward again, I look to see if there's anything I kept passing over, and I get rid of that. :) if I buy something new, I need to get rid of something since I only have so many hangers!ImageUploadedByPurseForum1451948100.556301.jpg

I love your system! I love looking at minimalist closets for inspiration.

I love this. I recently read tidying up too and the spark joy criteria has totally changed my buying habits and made it easy to decide what to donate. We recently moved and as I have been unpacking, I have donated all the things that didn't spark joy with no guilt! I had about 20 coach bags and have sold four so far and have a few more I will list in the spring.

Great posts and tips! :smile1: I guess I'm with the trend as I'm down to around 15 bags (not counting clutches and a few others that store flat and I use for out to dinner or AC) that bring me joy and have a few more to sell on EBAY once the rain stops and I can get some pics :rain:

This post is so inspiring so thank you! Vachetta Willis? Love mine but different strokes and all.
I'm down to 6 bags myself and feeling good about that. I feel guilty if I have a bag in my possession that isn't getting all the love it deserves.

I'm also in the process of 'paring down' my home and that feels good as well. TOO MUCH STUFF!
