Hi everyone, sorry long store, but I just want to know if anyone had the same experience.

I would like to start with my LV profile. I don't normally stick with one SA for a long time, I used to shop only when I travelled. Over many years, I bought trunks, hat boxes, bags so and so. It was a common sense/experience to me when you buy e.g. trunks and RTW together, LV is more lenient on putting leather goods limit on clients. Still, I never purchasd the same leather goods twice.

Since covid I have to stay in the UK most of the time and therefore there is one SA that I have stayed contact with since last year. I have been with this SA for about 7 months and I bought like 7 jackets and few sweaters (I also bought for my partner) from him. That is a considerable amount of money. He never offered to get rare leather goods and I was always the one who asked him if he can preorder "bag". I have missed out many items (e.g. pink denim nano speedy, new nano speedy). So I only be able to buy leather goods from him if those are easy to get (e.g items in store, can purchase from LV website usually). Because he basically cannot reserve any rare bags for me. I have to buy leather goods in LV website.

So for the last few months I have purchased two bags from LV website. He found it out and warned me I would get banned from LV if I continue to do that. He emphasised that I have to purchase everything from him as LV has limit on everyone and he has been carefully monitoring this for me. Last month I went to italy and purchased more items such as four hats and mini leather bracelets e.g. palm springs bracelet and bumbag bracelet. Because I stayed for a week the SA in Italy messaged me and offered me a ONTHEGO mm bag which I accepted. I have never hide my profile and the SA in Italy fully acknowledged my purchase history. I know it sounds like I bought so many bags but I hadn't purchased a bag for the full 2020 and three bags in 2021.

Few days ago, my SA told me that my profile is orange now and can no longer purchase leather goods but RTW. If I continue to buy thing from someone else I will get red listed. Then he said he will help me by communicating with management. I found this really hard to believe. I am not saying I am a VIC and LV should allow me to buy so many leather goods. But he is just not offering much for me to stick with him and being so condescending all the time. So I am sceptical on believeing what he said. He is even taking credit from "unlocking" the account for me. Does anyone experenced something like this? TIA.

Wow, that sounds very frustrating and quite stupid tbh. I’m sorry that your SA / LV management is being like this.

I am not an LV person so I’m sorry I’m not very helpful. However, I’ve never had an experience remotely similar to yours for any brand.

Hope someone with more LV experience can help you out!

I’ve never heard of this “orange” status. Wondering if this has been recently implemented.

Regardless, I’m sorry this is happening to you. If it were me, I would tell your local SA “thank you” (being polite, of course) and then only work with the Italy SA going forward. Life is short. Luxury shopping should be fun. Condescending behavior is a no-go.

Good luck — hoping others with more direct LV experience will chime in also.

Your SA is an ahole. I don't buy any RTW and my SA gets me all the hard to find bags. I bought close to 40 bags from him last year. Since I purchased so many bags my account did eventually turn yellow. I've never heard of orange. It's always been red, yellow, or green. When it was yellow, he just had management put in the override code. They just basically want to make sure that you're not reselling their bags. I've discussed this at length with my SA. We have a really good relationship. He told me that when your account is yellow it's up to the store whether to turn your account red or green. If they suspect that you're reselling or if you have too many returns they'll make your account red. If the store knows you well, then they'll change it back to green. My account was yellow from July of last year until January of this year. Then it was back to green. It takes a while for them to clear it since there is a backlog.

Are you sure he’s legit with this info or is he just trying to get you to buy through him? I am in the US and have never heard of this. I ordered a lot through my SA at the store and a lot online. I have never been tole I have a limit..This sounds really strange. Is it possible you could ask another person or management about this? I have never heard of a profile being a certain cOlof nor has my SA ever said anything…

How do you know what color your profile is? I buy a lot from my SA and many items online that I find available. Am I supposed to ask her?

To ensure better service and better availability of our products, Louis Vuitton limits the quantity of products that can be purchased as follows : no more than 3 leather goods (including small leather goods) per transaction, with no more than 2 identical products per such transaction. Also customers cannot, within 4 consecutive weeks, (i) buy more than 6 leather goods products (including small leather goods products), or (ii) buy in more than 3 different LV stores in the worldwide network, or (iii) conduct more than 8 transactions of all kind of products.

In any case the total number of purchased leather goods (including small leather goods products) will not exceed 12 products within 12 consecutive months.

To ensure the observance of those restrictions, Louis Vuitton Americas processes your purchase history. In case of non-observance, our client advisors may refuse further transactions with you, for a period of 2 years from your last purchase. For more information please read our privacy policy in store or on www.louisvuitton.com, or you may contact us at: https://us.louisvuitton.com/eng-us/start-the-journey for additional information.

That is US website policy of purchase limit

I strictly buy from my SA, since he gets everything for me. He just texted me one day that my account had gone yellow. He said not to worry about it that they could override the system for me, but that I couldn't buy anywhere else. They're not willing to override the system if they don't know you. I suppose you could ask her.

I’ve never had a problem buying from her and I have bought a lot. I don’t buy from any other SA and she always orders the bag for me or has it in the store. The only other place I buy is online. I will have to ask her…

His statements seem to bring up red flags, like if you order from someone else you will be red listed and he’s carefully monitoring it for you.. also that he “found out” that you were buying online and warned you you would be banned if you continued to buy online? Just sounds like he wants you to buy with him only so he can get the sales. Also that he doesn’t offer you rare bags, like he doesn’t want to do the work. My SA contacts me all the time offering to order items soon to be released or tries to order something if I ask her…she send me pics of new releases and new arrivals at the store.
I would not be dealing with a person like that at all…..
