I went to Venice H store in Day 1 of my stay in Venice. I bought something (not bags, but shawls, CDC). I wanted to buy a bolide for my cousin but he sales and director told me they didn't have bolide that day and said they would call me when they receive anything.

The next day, the director called me at 10:19am and said I am lucky because he found me a bolide and the color is nice. The director invited me to go to the store and see the bag. When I arrived at the store at 11:30am, the SA wanted me to buy a set of tea cups (that I declined in the first day when I asked for a coffee mug), a silver bracelet (which I tried on in Day 1 but I do not quite like it), wanted me to buy the hiking boots (I tried on as recommended but I really don't like how it looks on me), wanted me to buy the down jacket from riding collection (I told them for down jacket I prefer Moncler), wanted me to try the time suspend watch (I said I am not a fan of Hermes watch).

Since I cannot find anything I really want and like, I asked for the bolide that the director said he found for me. When he saw me, he said the bag was already spoken for and the customer confirmed "she" would take the bag and so he could not sell to me.

This is a very bad lie. It was only an hour between the call and my arrival. Even if it is true, he could have called and told me the bag was already spoken for and so I do not need to go again and waste my time. I see that he will only sell me a bolide if I spend more money on the non-bestsellers. He even mentioned to me that they need to select customers by looking at what they buy and how much they like the brand (aka how much you spend on other items). If the criteria is what and how much a customer like and know the brand, I am pretty sure I am more knowledgable than all the SAs in the store, so this "liking and knowing" is only an excuse. The real issue is how much you spend in the store.

I strongly NOT recommend anyone shopping there unless you want to make yourself angry and get ripped off.

Wow! That's appalling! Can you write to H about the treatment you received? Surely, H corporate wouldn't condone such awful behavior from their SA's and Sales Manager...

This is unacceptable! I would definitely write a letter to corporate and let them know of the shady practices going on in the Venice store. I can't believe they would hold a bolide hostage, seriously? That is just disgusting.

How horrible!!! The SM did a bait and switch!!!???? Really... that is just plain unethical!!!! :censor:

What a horrible experience, hopefully corporate will admonish them for such shady, scrupulous behavior. This is an Hermes store, not the bazaar stands on the streets of Venice, lol!

:amuse::roflmfao::rofl::giggles:
I'm imagining the Bolide all tied up with Chaine d'Ancre to a chair!

Sorry OP this happened to you..it's not a good business practice and I hope you do write a letter detailing your treatment from Venice H store. Even if they don't do anything about it, I'm sure you'll feel much better nevertheless.

Honestly the good thing to come out of this experience is that you saved your money and didn't buy all the things they wanted you to buy. It sounds like they would only sell the bolide to you if you purchased a ton of items from them. Not the way to treat a customer.
