my new obsession the tiffany bean

The gold one is hollow, but not thin. The chain passes through the bean so it can move.
They are quite weighty and I have no doubt that the bean is sturdy enough to make through lifetimes.

Thanks. I thought it would be solid except for a small hole for the chain to pass through. I wonder if the gold teardrop is hollow.

My 12mm mini bean!

Btw, the new sizes are 9mm (extra mini), 12mm (mini), and 14mm (small) according to the SA I spoke with today. My receipt says mini and mine is the middle of the 3 sizes.

Sneez, your 12 mm bean looks really nice. I just looks comfortable and like it belongs there. Arnott, I have the small gold teardrop. I'm not sure if it is partially hollow or not, but it is heavy. It definitely doesn't feel light-weight or insubstantial.

could it be we are witnessing a new bean-mode these days?

I never cared for the bean and all of a sudden I want on. (without having read any TPF threads).

I imagine some brainwashing that changes us ... commercials? No. So how comes we fall for the bean now?

Thanks. I think the 12mm size is the perfect size for most. I found the 9mm to be too tiny.

Not sure...I kinda want one too! I think the simple structure of it is appealing, and how it represents the beginning of all things is meaningful and can be applied to many situations.

Cute bean! I think I mentioned in another thread that I had a customer come in with the bean and I immediately noticed it. I saw her again last night and we complimented her on her necklace and chatted for a little while lol. Compared to your picture, I think she had the 9mm and it looked absolutely darling as well. She said she even forgot she was wearing it, which I think is a good feature for an everyday necklace.

The website said it comes 18mm and 20mm though? https://www.tiffany.com/Shopping/It...-p+4-c+-r+-x+-n+6-ri+-ni+0-t+bean-k+&search=1 for $250, and the 9, 12, or 14mm are $100.

I got the 12mm this past Valentine's Day and it def is the perfect size, at least compared to the 9mm. I haven't really looked at the other sizes in real life. I initially had the 9mm but it was so ridiculously small to me. It practically looked like I just had the necklace clasp showing. Who knew 3 mm could make such a difference!

Oh I didn't realize they still made the larger sizes. The 9mm is $100, 12mm is $150, and 14mm is $195.

I know! The SA laid out all 3 of the smaller sizes and I thought the 9mm was too tiny for me. I didn't even bother trying it on. The SA said that it looked like a "blob, can't even tell what it is." No offense to those who opted for the 9mm bean. Everyone has a suitable size. I tried both the 12 and 14mm and the SA agreed that the 12mm was the perfect size even with the 2mm difference. I love it! I couldn't stop staring at it when I wore it today.

My friend owns this, but I admit I myself have never been a fan of the bean. I guess I just don't see the appeal in wearing vegetables around one's neck. That being said, since this is Tiffany, the necklace is understated in an elegant way. And certainly different from your typical pendants/charms.

Yep, I have an 18mm bean (runs upstairs to pop it back on after all the bean talk)!
