Well it all started with La reale... I bought it on ebay with another scarf for 25 € .... The seller stated it had been handwashed and forgotten with a green scarf.... the poor thing was full of dye runs....
So I used the technic to remove runs and it worked !!!
But I am a big fan of strong scarves and it was a soft pink and grey one with somehow classical design... So I bought a dyeing kit ( Dylon; Ideal...); I tried and :-) it worked !!!!
Then followed Les courses , and all the others....
I am now buying some very stained scarves and classical designs to have them dip died Frontaux; Timballier...

That's my idea! Many classic colorations just wouldn't work on me, but some of these designs can be beautiful dipdyed. And I love hands-on projects like this :smile1:, giving a new life to a tired scarf.

Hhow do you dry your died scarf - flat on a towel? Any other secret tips are welcome :smooch:

Thank you for sharing this technique!
So, the spots aren't much noticeable after dyeing, right?
And, after dyeing, there is no problem with the dye, it doesn't run in any curcumstances (rain, moisture, perspiration)?
I'm very curious about your method, great idea! I checked these hand dyes where you dissolve the dye in water with salt, is that the type of dye you use?
:ty:
And, by any chance, maybe you have photos of your scarves before/after dyeing?

Wow! Beautiful, beautiful scarf collection you have there Imoline.
Our story is quite similar. I only started "collecting" about a year ago and it's quite terrifying on how fast they multiply themselves. :p
Very interested in your dipdying project too. Appreciate if you can share any tips on the process. Thank you for sharing!

Imoline, your collection is very, very nice. I see we share a few of my personal favorites. Your idea for dip-dyeing stained scarves is brilliant! Thank you for sharing it with us. I'm now thinking which one of scarves to dye!
