I think it looks great! The leather looks nicely patina's but also CLEAN! I wonder if it is worth it to try this with my old Piano..... I love the piano but the handle straps are pretty dark(black). The bottom is in good shape though.

First thing this morning--cup of coffee then TPF. Looks good so far!! If this turns out everyone will be dunking LV bought for cheap lol! I have come across some fantastic deals over the years preloved without cracks but passed due to the stains. Your giving me hope lady lol! My daughter wants a large noe so a "DUNK SHOW" could be in my future lol! It's a project we could do together.

For the record, the "slight perfumey smell" you were trying to obliterate is most likely the characteristic scent of vintage LV. Hence nothing to try to disturb.

I hope you're pleased, truly--at the same time, threads of this kind are worrisome, because it's also a fast track to causing more ruin, compared to the state of the bag to start with.

So if you are happy with everything except the handles, I would not recommend doing what I did because you might ruin your bag. There are probably better ways to clean just the leather than scrubbing the whole bag with dish soap and water.
