wow! i don't think i'd ever have the guts to ask an SA to take a picture of me! although, maybe i would if i knew the SA really well and there was no one else in the store!

sometimes i don't even examine the bag until i get home haha.

I know the excitement over comes you...but it really pays to take a close look at the bag you are "investing" in.

When I bought my hamptons tote, the SA brought one out from the back, put it on the counter, and started to ring me up...I noticed the bag had some weird "creases" or "lines" on the fabric...and I asked if I could possibly have another one.

well she was in the back for a while, came back with one and said "Now you have me paranoid! A lot of them back there are like that...is this one okay for you?" and it was perfect! (yay!)

so yeah, these bags, IMO, are not cheap...take the time to look it over.

All of these are great suggestions. I have a new trick that I use for impulse buying. It may drive SA crazy but have them put an item on hold, I get so see and feel the actual item that I am putting on hold, give them my name etc. then I go for a walk, go to other stores, etc. If I still want it after I left the store and did other things then I will buy it. I do all of the above mentioned too except for have the SA take my picture and put my stuff in my bag. I have 2 babies so I know not even a fraction of what I carry will fit but that i can put what i need on the rare occasion that i can get out to a store or something without them or throw 2 diapers, a binky a bag of wipes(wipes case usually takes up too much room), wallet , keys sunglasses and makeup etc and then i leave my enormous diaper bag in the car for changes of clothes and other baby things if i am running in somewhere where i can easily go out and get the stuff (esp if I have another person helping me) Anyway, I love my diaper bag too. It is a Fleurville and I have to say I would much rather have my Fleurville bag than a Coach diaper bag. It is the best diaper bag ever. FYI ! Sorry for rambling

Does the SA usually unwrap it for you? It's usually all tissued up and stuffed. Do you de-folliate it in the store???

I don't know why but I *much* prefer if the SAs leave it all wrapped up in the original packaging with tissue and everything. I just want a bag that no one has touched before. I'm *SUPER* picky. I mean, I'm ok with them bringing it out to me, showing me that it's never been opened and then taking it out of the wrapping. But I'm anal like that. :supacool:

And I agree with Deweydrop - that these are NOT cheap bags, so I want one that is 120% perfect.

I agree with the putting your own stuff in the bag test. Bags feel different once your stuff is in them. I also use several pouches to keep my bag organized so my stuff has to fit in just right.

ok- here is another strange thing.

i do remove all paper wrapping from the purse @ the store & I take the stuffing home to use to stuff my bags later on.

I always make sure I buy the bag fully stuffed. And when I'm not using the bags I keep them stuffed with all the original stuffing. I like to do that because it holds the shape of the bag.
