My journey with Jumbo

I bought my black caviar SHW jumbo in 2008 and have worn it maybe twice (!!) since then because at that time ~$2k seemed like a ton for a bag (how times have changed), so I just couldn't get comfortable with risking damage.

Now, I see it being worth so much that I really can't justify using it despite it seeming like the true perfect every day bag... anyone else struggle with this?

I honestly don't intend to sell it (and am not actually sure how much I could even get since it's a single flap -- I didn't know there was even an option back then but actually am not a big fan of double flaps in general given the cumbersome opening/extra weight/space take) but again just the thought of the price listed with a jumbo now seems impossible to justify everyday use, but meantime I'm on an endless hunt for an everyday Chanel -- would love any thoughts/advice
A 19 or a 22, for sure. :)

When I’m in Europe, I see many more chanel CF jumbos and mediums. People walk and need to carry stuff
In the US and Asia, I saw smaller chanel bags. I still have a range of sizes even though I prefer to carry less weight these days. These are gorgeous bags and fashion is cyclical.

Back when you bought your jumbo, they were only available in single flaps. I think they bought the double flap in around 2010 as it keeps the structure better, but single flaps are in demand as they are lighter and I believe they fit more.

I bought my jumbo in 2017 and it was a dream bag I never thought I would own. However, I found it a bit too big and slightly bulky for the amount it can carry so haven’t worn it much but I do love it and like you don’t want to sell as I know I would never repurchase at a higher price (it seemed like a crazy amount then much less now!).

The jumbo has doubled in price here in the UK since I bought it and the current price makes me feel nervous to carry it. It’s a gorgeous bag that I’m in love with, I definitely share your struggle.

I'm also interested in an everyday Chanel! When I first thought about getting the jumbo someone asked if I'd really use it as an everyday bag so now I'm second guessing. The 19 looks more casual so I'm torn between the two.

I rehomed all of my jumbos a few years back but thinking I might get one again. I'm not carrying as much as I used to when I used the jumbos more regularly so still not sure if I'm ready to take the plunge again. So far the smaller size bags have been working well for me. But I do think the jumbos are beautiful.
