Hey ladies...I'm looking for a watch. I've never owned a good quality one or an expensive one ever. I'm looking to buy my first one...I'd like one for daily use. I really fell in love with the Movado line...there's two I like...One is faceto which is 2 thousand and another is Sports Edition with titanium which is 1695 dollars. Honestly, for my first watch, I can't seem to bring myself to spend that much...especially since when I already spend so much on purses & clothes, and thinking about getting a new laptop. I was thinking about trying ESQ from Movado with the diamonds...they look nice but the ESQ name on it kinda irritates me. What do you guys think??

My first nice watch (when I was in high school) was a Movado.. something a little simpler though, the style Kara by Movado and I have no regrets!! If you don't want to spend the money but still want something with great quality go for somerthing more plain and simple, after all it will be used "daily".
:D

I have a diamond Citizen and a diamond Movado. I prefer to wear my Citizen everyday because I don't want to worry about scratches etc however, I do prefer to wear my Movado b/c it is beautiful. Go for the Movado!

Movado was my first good watch; my parents purchased it for me in Italy and we didn't even know it was a "brand". I just loved the no numbers on the face; I used to have a SWATCH watch with no numbers so I just considered it an upgrade. LOL........

Anyways, 20 years later, I still have that watch and use it regularly. I guess I am trying to say that it will still be wearable and stylish in the future. Go for it!

What do you guys think of the ESQ look though?? I love the look and having the diamonds on each number, or having the 4 numbers. Like that I can read it easier..lol. I like diamonds on it too, and the more diamonds, the more expensive...but for ESQ it's a really good price. Is it me or does the name ESQ on the watch seem a little annoying?

I don't think the name is annoying, it's just 3 little letters. If it annoys you and you don't think you'll really wear it, regardless of it being a good price, then I wouldn't buy it. Save up for the Movado that you really want vs settling for their ESQ line.

^^ true! I went to a movado boutique and I can't choose! I really liked the movado better than esq. I can get one for 900 dollars online... So scared to spend this much on a watch since I've never owned one! Call me crazy!

I'd get a classic, two-toned metal movado with the plain black museum face -- like this one. I got one almost ten years ago and I still reach for it more than any other watch. I have to admit that I haven't even taken good care of it -- I wear it all over the place, including to college football games and to the animal shelter where I volunteer -- and it's still going strong!

I was looking more at this one....found a deal for it a little under 900 dollars and retail price is 1900. I like a little bling to it. It has titanium and stainless steel. That combo actually looked nice.

This was the ESQ watch I liked second...itd be 275 dollars, a great deal honestly. Still sapphire crystal according to the website description. But looks more...sportier and chunkier obviously. Don't know what to do!

Get the Movado; it sounds like the one you really want.
It is a tidy sum of money, but a good watch is something you are going to need in your life. Whether for everyday wear, interviews, formal occasions, business affairs, etc.
A watch is something subtle that people do notice and will make an impression.

This is funny, I absolutlely had the same reaction. Couldn't figure out the signifigance of the label, does it mean it's Movado's low line or their high, but I hated it. Definately a deal breaker for me. There are so many beautiful watch lines in that price range, if ESQ annoys you move on.

Could you please clarifiy: do you mean crazy to spend $900 on a watch or do you mean crazy to be so scared to spend that much on a watch?

Furthermore, do you mean you've never owned a watch or never owned an "expensive" watch? Although, in this case, I do not personally consider $900 to be expensive, as I easily spend over $2000 a week on watches and other wrist accessories.

I mean crazy to be scared to spend that much, lol! I've never owned a watch before... I used to wear some when I was a kid but that's it. Plus I have tons of rings and necklaces and I already spend so much on clothes and purses. I'm in my 20's, and I'm going on 2-3 vacations in the next 6-7 months and I'm saving for MacBook pro so you can see my dilemma on spending even more money when to me, it's hard to since i've never owned a watch.

Oh I like the bling on this one! This one is really pretty. I just suggested plain b/c you can save some money. But if this sort of in your price range then I'd get it instead of the ESQ:-)
